    The ultimate guide to D&D?

Couple reasons for that. The page size difference for a dummies book and for D&D books. Dummy books being about 2/3 the height as a D&D book. They also will typically use a pitch 12 font without any column use. It also theoretically explains stuff in all of the core books, but I still think...

So, Outsiders don't eat or sleep?

Maybe I'm dense, but why doesn't the (Extraplanar) tag work for this idea?

    In all honesty...

About the same here. It's a quirky game and mostly just something done to pass the time. And now that the board has the RPG addon, that handles most of the idle distraction. Course, it was in silence long before that. I don't check nearly often enough thanks to my new job.

    New FAQ (10/12/2004)

Eh I've seen that for a while, but this is starting ot look like hte left hand doesn't know what the left hand did, given that Andy took over the FAQ (assumption based on earlier posts). Any event, odd.

    Can you teleport a golem?

Hmm interestingly enough, also from the FAQ a tidbit that I didnt' see mentioned earlier. Golem's cannot voluntarily lower their magic immunity.

    Baleful Polymorph and Hit Points

Except when dealing with polymorph... Then it depends on your Sanity Score... Either 1) Polymorph doesn't affect Hit Points (it explicitly doesn't, alter self doesn't, etc). Therefore, the con difference does not mean squat for hitpoints. or 2) Polymorph doesn't affect base hit points, but...

If this isn't the most up to date thread, let me know. I'll fix the problems.

    Can you teleport a golem?

Until immunity says it is also cannot be lowered like Spell Resistance, I'm inclined to believe it's like spell resistance in that regard. Portable Holes don't allow Spell Resistance near as I can tell, although if they did, yep, the Golem wouldn't be affected by it.

Rule expert help with monkey grip

Gah ya, I gave a half-answer. You're right :). However, the medium Dwarven Waraxe would be considered 'light' for the Large creature, neh?

Using Summoned Creatures to gain an AoO

Hmm, fair enough, but I still think it's a non-insignificant consideration for the relative balance. Although you're right in that it dosen't Force them to use that.

Rule expert help with monkey grip

In 3.0, yes. In 3.5, no.

    Accidental Cleave

Closest thing I think may be the frenzied berserker but even that wasn't that unreliable.

Using Summoned Creatures to gain an AoO

Hmm, something else I noticed. The fighter needs to be wearing armor that actually allows his effective dex modifer to be that high to begin with, and even with the reduced Dex 14 build, that leaves off most heavy armor (gogo Mithral!). To get the +5 'optimal' modifier, you'd need Studded...

    Cleaving after an AoO

Except it's not a balance explanation either. It's simply an inherent disagreement with the design decision. After all, if your sole gripe in this situation is "A Person making a Tactical Mistakes Gets Me Hurt Isn't Fair" as the balance consideration, wouldn't it also be equally 'unbalanced'...

[RotG] Miss chance for touch-delivered Cure spells

The problem here in, is that hitting an incorporeal creature from the corporeal world (eek) is impossible unless you're using a magic weapon or otherwise using magic. Now, that you are using C-W is well counted for and may make sense, however. They use the justification that since the 'touch'...

    Cold Iron Brilliant Energy Longsword?

The activation section leading into SRD Weapon ability states funly : So it's hard to say. Which ironically has its own little rule to explicitly detail the situation of the Losing Feat Access. It also behaves differently when dealing with classes too, doesn't it (matter of perception...

    Cold Iron Brilliant Energy Longsword?

Well, that significantly says you can't make a brilliant energy weapon into an adamantine weapon. But it doesn't say all too well that you can't enchant an adamantium weapon with brilliant energy.

D&D 3.x My DM wants to nerf 3.5 Psionics, help me convince him otherwise :)

Flavor restriction aside (Psionic Feats). #1 I don't really get, what do you mean here? The DCs are the same for Psion versus Wizard, or do you mean introduce the same sort of components to manifesting powers? #2 rules out a Psion real quick though. It's just not worth it then. #3 is a nice...

    Anyone else annoyed by psionics?

Psions get bonus feats though, and oddly enough that's why most of the comparisons consider the Psion at >9 for damage comparison (earliest a non-Kinetist can get it). Comparing a Dynamic Specialist to a Non-Dynamic Specialist (Psion Subclass to Specialist Wizard) is difficult, as is comparing...

    Anyone else annoyed by psionics?

Gah, silly area is trumped by range rule. Oddly enough, it does make Widen Power rather worthless for use with Psionic Blast. And a few other spells/powers as well (unless you match it with Enlarge at least- which isn't too viable for a Psion). You be right though.
