    D&D 5E (2024) GenCon 2023 - D&D Rules Revision panel

Nope, not at all. Steve Jackson Games, to a first approximation, hasn't ever had any RPG writers on payroll. Everything's been freelance, per-project contracts. And Steve Jackson has always kept a sharp eye on per-product profitability, which 1990s TSR definitely did not have -- which is why TSR...

D&D 5E (2024) Class spell lists and pact magic are back!

What's odd about that? The community being polled on these decisions is composed pretty much of two parts. The smaller part is what's left of the community whose reactions in the D&D Next playtests ten years ago shaped 5th edition in the first place. The larger part is all the people who were...

    D&D 5E (2024) Playtest Packet 6: Monk reactions?

Except that's not what the monk is. The 5e monk was "specifically built to facilitate" playing the previous-editions D&D monk, and that was specifically built around playing Remo Williams from the "The Destroyer" novels. Anything else the 5e monk chassis can do is pure bonus . . . and since...

    D&D 5E (2024) Playtest Packet 6: Monk reactions?

Yes. It depends on what the antecedent to your "it" there is. If it's the same as the "it all" in the previous sentence, then no, of course not. I'm not calling for deleting the monk class. You have the monk with various subclasses, and then you have a fighter subclass to relieve the pressure...

    D&D 5E (2024) Playtest Packet 6: Monk reactions?

Part of the problem with the monk discussion is the desire to make one class cover every single wuxia warrior archetype. Just one ki/discipline/whatever-using fighter subclass would save an astonishing amount of trouble by ending the "it must all be jammed into the monk" demands.

WotC The other snake in the grass: the Wizards Fan Content Policy

Some advice: You're in need of a copyright lawyer, if you're trying to navigate RPG copyright by reading advice to board game designers. You will definitely need a trademark lawyer, if you're going to claim that WotC's registered trademarks have been genercized. You likely need an outside...
