    Shaman AC too low?

Isn't Turducken that thing where it's Turkey, stuffed with a Duck, stuffed with a Chicken? Is there some sort of connection between that and a Spirit Companion that I'm missing, or do you just like the word?

    Fighter Multiclass

It's for that reason (and the minion killing ability) that I love my acidic Dragonbreath! However, this isn't always the advantage it sounds like. Sure, you could MC Invoker and mark everyone in something like an Area Burst 3...but then that also means that all those guys are now going to want...

    Missing Skill - Etiquette?

Well, even if you think that Diplomacy does too much already, what ability score would you assign Etiquette to? Charisma? In that case, it's more that Charisma does too much, not just Diplomacy...although Diplomacy is sort of Charisma's catch-all skill. Also, note that when the OP was going...

    fixing Healing Outside Combat

I guess part of the thing I'm trying to understand too is why you care? I mean, in our group we don't really worry about "Did we take 2 short rests, or 3?". 90% of the time it's really not going to matter much, and the 10% of the time it is going to matter we should probably know about it...

PHB2 general feats review (heroic tier)

While some of the other posters find it cheesy, I do think it would be funny to think of it that way. Like some Orc is charging at the Wizard and as he's going by the Paladin he takes of his helmet and flashes his pearly whites at the Orc. He's so distracted by how attractive this particular...

PHB2 general feats review (heroic tier)

Yeah, one of the "explanations" for CON, if you need one, has to do with endurance. Remember, attacks in a round can just as easily be thought of as a flurry of several attacks over the course of your, with one of them connecting. In case of someone who takes Melee Training: CON, it could be...

    fixing Healing Outside Combat

First off, it wasn't the PHB 2 that allowed healing outside of combat, it was the PHB 1. It's been there since the beginning. This is where a lot of players get the idea from to use Healing Word during a short rest. So it's not a "new" thing, just something that some people missed the first...

    New Stealth vs. Old Stealth

    Shaman AC too low?

Whoops! You are correct about that. I was thinking of actual OA's, which it can't make, but there are the two Spirit powers (Spirit Fangs and Spirit Shield) that do effectively function as an OA. So yeah, I guess you might be able to effectively use it as a Shield if you go the Stalker route...

PHB2 general feats review (heroic tier)

I was responding specifically to TheLordWinter's comment of: I was just saying that there's a big difference between the PHB 2 and the "numerous" splat books he was talking about. We're just starting this edition, not in the thick of it when there's been 20 splatbooks released. Essentially...

    Shaman AC too low?

One problem there. They still haven't explained how to hold your Totem and the Longspear at the same time...WTF? I suppose you might just need to take Quickdraw and use a free action to move to hold the spear in off-hand, and then Quickdraw to draw and use your Totem, then a minor to put it...

Melee Training - Good or Bad?

It really just depends on the party makeup. My party doesn't have a Warlord, so there's no granted attacks. We have a Fighter (me), a Melee Cleric and a Rogue as the melee fighters. The Rogue probably won't take it simply because he's never had to attempt an OA since he rolled him (we're...

PHB2 general feats review (heroic tier)

Well, there's two differences here. The Player's Handbook 2 is not just "another splatbook", it is a core book. Technically Martial Power is too, but it's more of an outlier than the PHB 2. Secondly, there's a difference between letting things and then deciding "Hmm, this isn't working out...

PHB2 general feats review (heroic tier)

My party has two Clerics. One of them got knocked out early in the encounter, before he even got a chance to use his heals. The other Cleric used a Healing Word on him to get him back up, but one of the DM's monsters had a readied action to hit him if he got back up. When he hit him, it...

PHB2 general feats review (heroic tier)

I think you're underestimating it's usefulness. There have been a couple of times where I've needed to make a heal check to save a downed player...particularly if that play is the Cleric. Having to do that as a Standard action sucks, since it makes it a choice of "Attack, or help him". This...

    Misdirected Mark and Defenders

It doesn't require any text analysis. Misdirected Mark applies the marked condition to a foe, which means that they have a -2 to attack anyone other than the person who marked them (which is determined by the Bard when he uses the power). That's all. This means it works with Fighters...

    Shaman AC too low?

Yeah, for a lot of classes Chain is trivially easy to get. Even if they start with just cloth, it's only two feats to get into the Heavy Armors. While Chain might not mesh well with most people's idea of what a "Primal" class should wear, I think it's okay since it's not nearly as heavy duty...

    Same Skill Training Twice?

Well, since you're the DM I would just say decide on whatever you think is fair, and then let your players know about your houserule. Personally though, I feel that substituting a different skill is a little powerful, as you can use that as a backdoor way to pick up skills that would otherwise...

Barbarian on plate, is it worth?

    Healing Outside of Combat

Pretty much. There's a lot of things in this edition that are vague, like some of the alignment stuff, and I think it was done purposefully to allow people to come up with their own rules. In the case of the short rests, if you like using them as a narrative tool, then just say "Okay, we're...
