    Marvel vs DC

Pretty much all the "Class 100" characters have gone way past 100 tons by a ton. Heck, The Thing is, what, Class 70? He has also gone past 100 tons at times. Probably in part by comic writers not going out of their way to find out how much stuff weighs for the cool story they are writing, but...

    Marvel vs DC

Nowadays the two are pretty similar. When Marvel was new on the scene the characters definitely have flaws and more varied personalities than DC did, and Marvel was put together as a shared universe compared to DC sorta doing it after the fact. But after time, not so much difference. Which makes...

DDAL Running DDAL04 (Ravenloft) Adventures as a Campaign

There is definitely some great stuff there. I fell in love with The Beast after reading it, and I think it's a great adventure just on it's own. The Marionette had some good stuff there too, with the Haunted Mansion and the Reanimator/Dr. Frankenstein antagonist. The Tempter looked excellent as...

DDAL Running DDAL04 (Ravenloft) Adventures as a Campaign

This is an excellent thread, as I've thought about running these adventures at some point in the future. Knowing about the potential pitfalls, and some ideas to make some of the later adventures more atmospheric is incredibly helpful.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Yah, the two level warlock dip in the end doesn't give up much, but during play it will at times miss out at certain levels compared to a single classed character. Spell Sniper can grab it without the dip, but without Agonizing Blast it's only a bit better than Fire Bolt.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Well, it seems stuff happened after I went to bed last night. Ultimately not terribly surprising. I think the original poster had a few interesting ideas, but for the most part a lot of the supposed power of the "ultimate" sorcerer relied on questionable rules interpretations and to be fair...

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

I would have preferred a simple yes or no, but I gather that is a no, the target does not.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Hohige, if while hidden, a sorcerer casted Dominate Person with Subtle Spell on a target, and the target succeeded on the saving throw, thus negating the effect, would the target realize that they had to make a wisdom saving throw? Or do you believe that the target would remain unaware of the...

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

So multiple Mind Spikes then. Hohige, you mentioned that the the ogre things were searching for you. Did this happen before or after the first one died?

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

I've already assumed that they were not actually Oni as per the monster manual. I also feel like that it's not really necessary information to know for the more pertinent questions I have.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Brisket is pretty tasty. Hohige, question. Did the ogre die from a single casting of Mind Spike or multiple?

Probably head splitting pain, possibly bleeding from the ears or nose.

    I completely agree on that.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Hmm, Interesting. I wonder how well it applies in this instance though. Suggestion and Mind Spike are a bit different circumstances. To be clear though, I do agree that a target would know they had to make Wisdom saving throw and that they took psychic damage as a result. Where I don't think it...

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Probably not your hotdog, but it could be a trap, or environmental effect. In such a situation I would expect a creature to retreat to somewhere they had been previously that they did not take damage at, and the proceed from there. If they took damage again then it's likely coming from a...

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Okay. But the character would know something is wrong, and could either attempt to flee the area or try to find out if there is any source of the damage by searching, correct?

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

So, Hohige, you are saying that even though my character has taken damage, the character might not realize it? Because I doubt the players I DM for would be happy if I told them that as DM.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Yah, I agree that is where the DM was being quite generous.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

I agree it was generous, although I actually agree with Hohige that Subtle Mind Spike wouldn't automatically reveal the location that you are hidden at. The enemy would need to actually look for you.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

I'm dubious that Mind Spike literally killing someone would just be a headache. It's doing damage to the target on the scale to being stabbed or burned.
