D&D 5E (2014) How would you best represent astronomy skills in D&D?

I’m talking about using a telescope, knowledge of stars and other celestial bodies, ect. My character has Arcana and history skills, but I’m wondering if I should see if I should petition my DM to trade one of the languages from my sage background in for some skill with a telescope or something.

D&D 5E (2014) How can I optimize a hexblade pact of the blade warlock?

I’m not sure what subclasses most people plan on taking. I wish I could give more info. There are 6 party members. Barbarian Dual wielding ranger Rogue Celestial warlock Druid

D&D 5E (2014) How can I optimize a hexblade pact of the blade warlock?

Melee Team player (the other melee combatants are a ranger with two short swords and a greataxe wielding barbarian). Tanks *and* elusive? IDK, which is a better option?

D&D 5E (2014) How can I optimize a hexblade pact of the blade warlock?

I’m thinking of human or half elf. Point buy, official books only. Thank you.

D&D 5E (2014) Need help in picking a character to fit this party

Thanks. He’s on board with it, saying his celestial warlock is much more of a spellcaster and healer. Mine will be closer to a fighter.

D&D 5E (2014) Need help in picking a character to fit this party

Would a hexblade pact of the blade warlock step on the toes of the celestial pact of the tome warlock? I feel like this might be a great example of two of the same class being played very differently.

D&D 5E (2014) Need help in picking a character to fit this party

Thank you. I do realize I’m not giving everybody much to go on. I only have the info I’ve been given.

D&D 5E (2014) Need help in picking a character to fit this party

This is exactly what I’m asking. Thank you. I’m concerned because, while not knowing anything more than what’s listed above (that’s not completely true; I know the celestial warlock plans on going pact of the tome to be a better spellcaster), since we’re using the standard array for stats...

D&D 5E (2014) Need help in picking a character to fit this party

I’m joining a new game. I’ve asked what the others are playing, and this is what I’ve been told: Celestial warlock Rogue Barbarian Hunter ranger Moon druid We are starting at level 1, using the standard array and can use any official book (no UA) except Volos Guide. Any ideas on what holes...

    D&D 5E (2014) LF Crit Fishing Build

Considering the large number of feats a fighter gets, you would be better off with the magic initiate feat and the find familiar spell. The owl has flyby, which is probably the best option.

    D&D 5E (2014) Treantmonk's Guide to Wizards 5e

I can’t be the only one who’s disappointed that this amazing guide has degenerated into a discussion about only one of the (currently nine) wizard subclasses. Bladesingers should have their own conversation. Diviners and Illusionists have already won the discussion as the best wizards.

    High Elf cleric 1/wizard 3

Hey guys, I'm playing a high elf cleric 1/wizard 3. He's a knowledge cleric and a diviner wizard. I have to use the standard array, and I'm playing with a new DM who doesn't want to be overwhelmed, so we're using the PHB only. No UA, SCAG, ect.. I'm going to take the cleric level first...

You are not wrong, but that's a pretty niche ability.

    D&D 5E (2014) LF Crit Fishing Build

Good point. You are more likely to get a critical if you can generate advantage on more attacks, which you will if you knock an enemy prone.
