Round 2: NEW JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED TONIGHT 9.24.05

I thought it was a little weird that they presented "John" and "Rick" as Viking names, but I otherwise rather liked both episodes.

They're back: Return of the Slivers. [Updated 24/8-2005: Beware the Overlord!]

I just came across this thread the other day, and it looks quite good. I've liked slivers since they first appeared, and I'm intrigued by the prospect of using them in D&D.

Coolest ways to leave a show...... *spoliers* duh

That crossover network is greatly expanded if you allow all media, as shown here. A show that I think had a perfect ending was "Strangers With Candy." The school gets demolished, and Jerri returns with the teachers to her old life of petty crime.

    Shemeska's Planescape Storyhour (Updated 29 Jan 2014)

Somebody likes those symbol spells. This has all been good reading.

    [Sept] What Are You Reading?

I'm reading a few books: +Genesis by Poul Anderson, an astronaut gets his mind loaded into a computer; +The Godmother's Apprentice by Elizabeth Ann Scarborough, a Seattle rock star's teenaged daughter goes to Ireland to train to be a fairy godmother, the second of at least three books; +Grave...

    The 4400 season 2 is over---discuss

Shawn was already with Jordan at the start of Season 2, so it was late Season 1. There was also an incident in the telepathic spy episode "Voices Carry," in which Shawn used his touch to subdue one of Dravit's goons. My reaction to the end of the finale was that I will be quite upset if there...

Serenity - Subject, R. Tam (5th viral marketing clip added!)

Ah, that worked nicely. These are some interesting looks at the background of a series which I rather like.

Serenity - Subject, R. Tam (5th viral marketing clip added!)

I just got a lot of crazy text when I tried to watch Session 22.

    Stargate Atlantis:Season 2/8.12.05

Yeah, Wraith do get pretty hungry. For a while, though, that leader guy wasn't considered to be just food.

Want to recommend a book, or a series of books?

I like Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next series. It's a crazy set of fantasy alternate history books. The title character is a detective, and she eventually gains the ability to enter the worlds of assorted pieces of fiction. The books are The Eyre Affair, Lost in a Good Book, The Well of Lost...

    Stargate Atlantis:Season 2/8.12.05

I like what they've been doing to develop some Wraith as individuals. For example, the guy in this episode was actually willing to treat certain non-Wraith as anything but food.

    Stargate SG-1: Season 9/8.5.05

I was somewhat amused by seeing Teal'C in a suit and tie.

History Channel - Quest for Dragons

That theory was that dragons combine big cats, predatory birds, and snakes. On the subject of Dungeons & Dragons, there was a CGI sequence showing something that was clearly a D&D red dragon, followed later by an yrthak.

    Paramount wants Modern John Carter

The books weren't even modern when they were written, and that doesn't seem to have ruined the series.

    The 4400

I, too, am rather fond of this series. I particularly liked Maia's prediction from the end of the recent season premier. That was nicely ominous.

    Shemmy's Planescape Storyhour #2 (Updated x3 10-17-07)

It's somewhat nice for me that both of these Story Hours updated on my birthday.

What is your favorite non-traditional setting?

Dragonstar is very nearly the setting I had always wanted to run. The only major problem with it, for my tastes, is that it has too much focus on alignment.

    Farscape (No Spoilers)

I am aware of that. I guess I just didn't make my sarcasm clear enough.

    Shemeska's Planescape Storyhour (Updated 29 Jan 2014)

This last update rather nicely reminds me of the movie Labyrinth.

    Farscape (No Spoilers)

    Especially the Sebaceans.
