    flaming sphere vs. invisibility

I would deifinitely say no here as the Explosive Rune spell was cast prior to becoming invisible. And even if you did go invisible before casting the rune I would argue that it wouldn't dispell invisibility.

What would be the ramifications of this?

Craft points is either Complete Adventurer or Unearthed Arcana. Most likely Unearthed as our DM doesn't like to use that book anymore.

    Experience for different leveled characters

Just to make sure I understand: Character A 3rd level / Character B 4th level (assuming a 4 person party) Party overcomes a CR 5 Character A get experience from the 3rd level CR 5 chart / 4 Character B gets experience from the 4th level CR 5 chart / 4 Is that about right?

    Experience for different leveled characters

How is experience figured out between characters of the same party with differing levels? I keep hearing that the lower level character gets more experience but how do you come up with the numbers? Our DM just uses the party average and compares that with the CR and divides that number by the...

There HAS to be a way to build a drow mage...there has to be.

That looks to be a good bit better than the elf from the MM1. It has +2 to dex and int and a -2 to con and strength. It also doesn't have blur as a special ability. How often would light sensitivity come into play in the campaign? That still looks to be a +1 LA to me.

Dealing critical damage to critical immune

Yeah, I can't find the feat(s) anywhere. I guess that what I saw was probably the spells.

Dealing critical damage to critical immune

I believe that I saw a feat or group of feats that allow a character to deal critical damage to creatures normally immune to criticals. I can't seem to find it anymore though. Does anyone know what this feat or these feats are?

If you are immune to something, do you still make a saving throw?

If you're willing to take a couple of class levels other than wizard or sorcerer you could look into a class from the Tome of Battle. There is a feat / boost / maneuver (can't remember which) that allows you to make a concentration check in place of a save. A 1 on that check is not considered a...

Tired of having your players killing the BBEG without breaking a sweat?

I had once made a NPC ettin. I gestalted it as a Barbarian / Druid. I took Still Spell as on of the feats and decided that with a 25 concentration check (base) could cast a spell while attacking.

You are using Binetti's defense against me.

I never really thought of it like that before.

You are using Binetti's defense against me.

I did not know that. I always thought it was just a charge maneuver. Learn something new everyday.

You are using Binetti's defense against me.

"Yes, yes. You're very smart. Shut up." I would hardly consider Buttercup pushing Westley to be a bull rush (she didn't have a 10' head start). The rat maybe (I'll have to watch the scene when I get home). At the moment, in my mind I see the rat charging, biting and tripping. I guess the Scout...

You are using Binetti's defense against me.

Prince Humperdink at least had personality. And I hate using Lord of the Rings for examples.

You are using Binetti's defense against me.

Though I understand your point, Weapon Finesse, Combat Expertise and Dodge seem to only add bonuses in any of our campaigns - no flavor. Disarm would be different as it has an immediate effect that forces a combatant to make a decision. You would think that with a free 5' move players would...

You are using Binetti's defense against me.

Is there a way to make combat more interesting without making it take even more time? It's kind of hard to imagine a fight that goes like this: Prince Humperdink: "There was a mighty duel. It ranged all over... both were masters." When it normally just has two or more combatants standing in...

    Ways to make daggers good?

You can't use power attack with a light weapon. Edit: Disregard, I didn't notice a second page (failed spot check DC 5)

Help me decide: Half-ogre werebear or human werebear barbarian?

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification.

Help me decide: Half-ogre werebear or human werebear barbarian?

Don't you have to be lawful as a werebear? My books aren't handy at the moment but I think that werebears are 'always' LG as opposed to 'usually' LG. This would mean that you couldn't take barbarian as a natural werebear. I'm not totally sure if that is the case but I kind of recall seeing that...

    Gestalt characters & monster classes

I made a gestalt ettin once as an NPC. I just treated its level adjustment as its race (which it is) and stacked the gestalt levels on top of that. It definitely wasn't a weak character.
