Mystic Theurge PrC - They've got to be kidding!

No, of course not. Half or more of the people I've seen look at this class have indicated they think it is overpowered. PrCs, though, unless ridiculously overpowered, (and even then) will always have supporters. When Sword & Fist first came out, many people insisted the Ninja Of The Crescent...

What new race is in the Underdark?

My opinion is that your obsession with this race borders on the unnatural. :D

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

Well, in the dictionary I just looked the word up in, it also contained: without, or not subject to, a charge or payment. --- adv. So I clearly disagree with you on the proper use of the word. Free, and freely, clearly can apply to material and economic costs. I can also clearly see we will...

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

My opinion is that, were it not for Boccobs Blessed Book, Wizard scribing costs would be far too prohibitive. As you say, the Wizard will only have a few more spells than the Sorcerer, and will be hamstrung because he spent most of his gold attaining those spells, while the Sorcerer was free to...

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

If it's the less likely interpetation, why is it the most widely accepted one? I have never seen anyone argue that is what Boccobs Blessed Book does. It's pretty clear from the text it allows you to scribe spells without the usual cost. If you disagree, fine, but that would be a house rule.

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

It's up to you. Both are very powerful choices, and you won't be hamstrung that badly if you supplement your character with a few magic items to help round out her spellcasting abilities. How do you see your character delving into magic, is the question. Would she take a studious...

    One in a million?

Balors can cast Protection From Evil on themselves, and they'll be fine. In fact, given the Blood War, and evil spellcasters Planar Binding spells, I suspect they do so often. Being a Fey'ri or Tiefling just means it's more natural for your character to follow the path of Evil than it is to...

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

[/b] From the SRD: The Wisdom is a reference to the fact any Wizard would have to be a fool not to have this. I've seen several campaigns where PC Wizards are baffled that not every Wizard uses such books. It simply doesn't make sense to use anything else. If the Wizard crafts the book...

Sorceror in current edition worse than wizard?

Boccobs Book renders the GP cost for scribing new spells largely irrelevant to any Wizard with a Wisdom above 6. I personally prefer Wizards, but that's because I prefer the "hard work and intelligence" approach to the "I can do it just because" approach of the Sorcerer. Wizards are more...

    One in a million?

The other two are from another Forgotten Realms series of books. I listed characters from different authors, as hopefully you would know of at least a few. I see you do. :) I think Bombadil was CN because he was very independent, and was the only one of his kind I know of who simply...

    One in a million?

[/b] That would be CN with CE tendencies. Enjoying killing is an Evil trait. The other traits you describe are typical of a CN character in 3E. Independent, and likes to do Good more than Evil, but won't go out of her way to do so. Remember that the Neutral alignments in 3E prefer Good to...

Mystic Theurge PrC - They've got to be kidding!

And who said I did? Why is it unless you completely sugarcoat every response made on an internet board, possibly with several disclaimers, it's construed as rude? My reply was meant as a lighthearted jab, not as an insult. Good grief.

    One in a million?

Playing a Chaotic Neutral character can be difficult. You need to make sure you do not fall into the trap of doing whatever you want, since you lack both a moral code and do truly respond to the forces of order. The best way to play any character is to assign your alignment later, after you've...

    Do Undead Still Have Souls?

I really like most of the theories so far. I think I prefer to keep the Undead and Demons seperate, however, so I will discard the Demonic Parasite theory. I would like to keep Undead as unique as possible, instead of another type of fiend. I am unsure as to whether or not I should keep the...

Mystic Theurge PrC - They've got to be kidding!

Andy Collins also defended the class on the Wizards boards. Like I said, read the thread. But then again, even with all the WoTC developers saying it is, you won't believe until it's in the 3.5E DMG. I guess you better just bow out of all 3.5E related discussion until then. :p

    Illithid Paladin?! Say what?

Illithids are one of the lowest and most vile forms of life in existence. They are parasites, and they feed off of other sentient beings brains in order to survive. I think this is one of the creatures that should be labeled as "Always Evil", because they cannot reasonably survive without...

Mystic Theurge PrC - They've got to be kidding!

The Wizards developers have stated this is not an April Fools joke, as you would already know if you had read the rest of the thread.

Mystic Theurge PrC - They've got to be kidding!

Personally, I think the class is overpowered. If I was playing a Wizard, I would gladly trade three levels of my progression to gain Cleric spellcasting up to seventh level. Losing a few ninth level spell slots and three feats (which isn't as bad as it seems, since you can often gain feats...

    DM Help: Alignment Woes

That depends on how obvious the mistreatment of the population is. If the "police" are walking around doing this in broad daylight, while the Paladins are around, I would expect them to put a stop to it. Slavery is unquestionably evil, and executions without a trial would be heavily...
