That Ruling makes the Hand-Crossbow advantage useless. Also the only advantage the Hand-Crossbow has to his bigger Cousins is that it is one-handed, which is moot if you need two hands to operate.

What is the advantage of Pre-Ordering it?

That's exactly what I would have done, but all NPC's mention where there are coming from and nearly nothing else ... so it's a very important part of their descriptions, which I don't know anything about :P

Since 5E uses Forgotten Realms as standard Backdrop for their Adventures, but there is no official 5E Forgotten Realms Guide ... what book should I use? I would have thought the 4th Edition Book would be right one (the most recent as far as I know), but Princes of the Apocalypse always lists...

MerricB, did you use the Adventure Hooks (Page 12-14)? And if yes, how did you introduce them?

Thanks! I usually like such Hooks, but these look overly specific and give often no reason why the Character should follow it. Also they are not for the Group, but individual Characters which is also a bit odd...

My main Problem with the Beastmaster is, that it seems that there is no official way to heal them besides Magic (no Hit-Dice, no healing together with the Ranger, etc.).

Be careful, you need to Concentrate to Ready a Spell and therefore cannot combine this Tactic with many other Spells.

But that would make no sense. How would the Mount be fast enough to Disengage but the Rider, who just sits on top, does not. Also it fits perfectly to a mounted Warrior to ride through enemy hordes while slashing left and right (except if they readied their attacks especially a spear).
