I would definetly use them for Skill Challenges.
But from what you say, maybe I'll try them for combats.
I'm not sure about the bookeeping for criticals though,
The difference between 16 and 18 is not that great.
And when having a 20, you are making a huge sacrifice on your secondary and terciary stats.
The balance to this low or high primary stats is:
- Having frequent attacks to NADs
- Have the Skills be useful and necessary
This brings back the...
Wow guys, great feedback!
Thank you very much!
Let's see each point you've made:
The main idea is that you can't stand by the Giant and trade blows with him.
That's why if you allow him to use his move-standard, you basically loose.
Let's see how.
Yes, that's exactly the idea.
Since you...
I hate how you acquire the conditions.
But I love the effects.
Exhaustion seems a little tricky, but definetly a good one to have to model exhaustion from travel, which is something I'm looking for right now.
I always wanted to make a monster like this.
A Giant that felt you couldn't stand ground against.
But that it was slow and you could easily outmaneuver.
I made it as level 1, but the idea is to scale it to whatever level you need it.
The Giant is also missing encounter powers.
But I wanted...
I would recommend you to stick to the principle:
One roll for one situation.
Try always to do as little checks as possible.
In the case of perception, I allow only 1 roll and add each chars modifier to it. The ones that succeed get the info.
As others noted before, whether the PCs can share...
Yes, those Skill Challenges could benefit from a little "facelifting", I'm going to run them to a group in a month, so maybe I'll redo them, and publish them here.
Mmmm, I don't know if it can be woken up.
But you can grant your ally additional saving throws via the Heal skill or Powers.
They're no more lethal than a Medusa or similar monsters/effects.
LOL, I didn't say it was a loose, I meant that you can't count on enemies making OAs, because it's optional.
Having said that, pushing an attacker (with CC) is a little more dependent on whether the attack is the first or the last action.
Because in one case it means that the enemy con move...
Yes, if I remember correctly, the party's only chance to break the Crystin's domination is in the Skill Challenge at the end of the first module.
I don't know if killing Haddin could break it too.
Mmm, that seems more like an ad hoc ruling to deal with the temp hp problem.
I would cut to the chase and solve the root of the problem.
Claiming that all members of a party must rest together at the same time gets you in a world of trouble. What about people sleeping and others keeping watch?
Yes they can.
You attack, give the enemy a -2 penalty and then push him.
As it was pointed out, the problem of pushing an enemy is that you leave him beyond the reach of your fighter.
Both feats rely heavily on how often you use Combat Challenge, which depends on your DM.
Yes, been on alert or been unaware of danger doesn't change the initiative/surprise dynamic.
The alertness of someone would modify his Perception roll, and having weapons on hand, illuminating appropiately their surroundings, etc.
