    Conversion: WGR1 Greyhawk Ruins

As written, that SC is almost guaranteed to fail.

    Damage progression of PCs

You're right eamon. I WAS aiming for a sort of baseline, a conservative one. Having that, it's much easier now to add Bracers and other items.

Bradaman's Weapon, Two Divine Chalelnges and Engagement

But it is extremely difficult for a paladin to engage two enemies at the same time.

    Pacing & daily powers/surges

You can provide bonuses/succeses on a skill challenge if the PCs spend healing surges or daily powers. That way, you can have them spend resources in a non-combat situation.

    Houseruled Twin Strike

You mean Areas and Blasts as well?!?!?!?

    Houseruled Twin Strike

Make two attack rolls: If both hit, target takes 2[W] if one hit target takes [W]. Yes, it's extremely difficult to write it well, yet we all know what we want. But you are on the right track: the problem here is the double static damage. I should note that a desirable feature of Twin Strike...

    Spell List Generator

FoxWander, you nailed it! That was the site! I was looking specifically for the Cleric spell lists. Unfortunately I was going to filter some spells, and you seem to have all of them. Oh well, that's what we got. If you want/can, please post it here. In any case, I'll sendo you a PM with my...

    (save ends both)

I think the question here is: Why are we having Condition + Damage or Condition + Condition have a "saves ends both"? What are they modeling? Why do we want one save for both? If the answer is "to make less rolls", then we've just hit the price for that. If not, if we ARE modeling something...

    (save ends both)

The problem with that ruling is that it seems to go against the ruling we have for typed damage: Combined damage is harder to resist, since you have to be resistant to both. Conversely, you are vulnerable to a combined damage is you are vulnerable to at least one of the components. But the...

    House Rule: Dialects

Oh, I see. Then, what do you want to do (ultimately) with this rule? Add more languages without penalizing PCs? Maybe what you are trying to do is better done with another rule that doesn't involve dialects.

    Damage progression of PCs

Hit to take out a monster Assuming the very basics: stat increase, items and encounters I did this calculation: How much hits do you need to bring down a monster of your level? Lvl 1 - Hits vs Mnstr: 3 Mnstr HPs: 28 AtWill Dmg: 8 Enc.Dmg: 12 Lvl 2 - Hits vs Mnstr: 4 Mnstr HPs: 36 AtWill...

Simple houserule: If at the start of your turn you are not conscious, enemies are no longer marked by you.

    Conversion: WGR1 Greyhawk Ruins

It's a constant on these games to reward failure, even when they are clearly designed to reward succeses. All the "random encounter" mechanic is full of that. You should earn XP for travelling dangerous terrain, whether you have encounters or not.

    Damage progression of PCs

Has anybody calculated this? From level 1 to 30, the obvious damage that PCs increase is: - 6 from items - 4 from stat increase - 3-5 from epic tier at-will damage increase at level 21 - any other? Some items add more damage to this. But I don't know how often, or at what levels. And each...

    WOTBS - The Inquisitor (spoilers)

Here's an Elite version of Boreus I came up with. Note that I've added a leader power to him. Inquisitor Boreus Level 7 Elite Controller (Leader) Medium natural humanoid XP 600 Initiative +4 Senses Perception +11; darkvision HP 154; Bloodied 77 AC 21; Fortitude 18; Reflex 19; Will 20 Saving...

Balancing an assassination attempt on a player

Not necessarily. They could get rescued if they loose (to introduce an NPC for example), or a single PC could be dead, or be gravely wounded and out of the action for one adventure, etc. An assasination attempt made in a simulacionist way is the most un-fun thing to do. What you are saying, I...

Bards - What Makes them Good?

From a DM perspective, the bard in the group was different from other leaders because: - it allowed for clever tactics (like the Tactical Warlod) - excellent support out of combat I should note, though, that I DM in a way that makes skills very important, so in my case the Bard may have had...

    House Rule: Dialects

That seems like different languages, not dialects.

Balancing an assassination attempt on a player

It is important to place this encounter in it's narrative context. What's this encounter for? What happens if they win? What happens if they loose?
