Lets determine together what the soul is, and what are its game mechanics

In my campaign, it hasn't really needed to be dealt with, but it has occured a little bit in our campaign when an evil ghost (arch enemy guy) ate a player's father's soul via weird rituals, diseases, and all that stuff. But anyways, here's how it's divided: The body is exaclty what we think the...

New Trait: Luck of the Gods

hmmm, it sounds interesting, and would probably stimulate creativity with using the spells that are NEVER used, but: 1. I really think it is a crazy hassle, and 2. I think it could become one of those "make or break" things. Such as the one day that the cleric gets a really good batch, he...

The Randori Master (Homebrew Prestige Class)

I believe it's randori, but then again, for Japanese words I always use the romangi spelling. That's a pretty cool feat, and it embodies much better the exercise of Randori I think, but I think when I first made the prestige class it was called the "defensive master." I basically made it just...

    Fumble on firing into melee

I don't agree with the notion that it removes ranged attacks from the game. D8 damage really isn't THAT much to get shot in the back with, and in fact we have instances where one fighter is surrounded by enemies and the wizard says (so, how good exactly IS your reflex save?) I agree that this...

The Randori Master (Homebrew Prestige Class)

Randori is the Aikido exercise where multiple people attack one person (4-8 depending on the skill level I believe) and that person has to fend them off. I thought that was a cool concept and I always thought that tripping, disarming, and such were never good enough to be used. Therefore, I...

    Weapons as special effects

hmmm, I SOUNDS pretty cool, and is certainly balanced against itself. But how about hit point advancement, and magic that have all been thought out to be pretty balanced with each other. Would this allow fighting types to do more than they should according to the current rules? This sounds...

A new twist on the Ranger's favoured enemy

Just because you're not evil doesn't mean you can hate your own race. But agree, just go with the "whatever" ruling unless you find that it's unbalancing...which it probably will not turn out to be.

    Spontaneous Druid?

I know that in 3.5 druids can spontaneously cast summon nature's ally spells, but I'm talking about a completely spontaneous druid. I had a character concept idea, which is a druid that basically embodies the destructive forces of nature (ie all of the flame spells, lightning, earthquake...

The foe hunter a lose-lose situation?

I just started making an NPC foe-hunter (from masters of the wild) to aid the PCs against a new threat that they've never seen before. While I was making him though, I realized how freaking awesome he is against his favored enemy, and how mediocre he is against other enemies. I guess that's...

    Tyranids

Tyranids are a race from the game Warhammer 40,000. They're buglike creatures that follow the psychic direction of the hive mind. For anyone who knows about them, do you have DND stats and/or a race that fits with them? I'm thinking of using modified formians, but I'd like to know what other...

Squeeze the Lifeblood, 2nd LV spell

Looks pretty good. It's close range and with maximum concentration being the level...it can't deal too much damage, but it can also deal more than some other spells given enough time. Good Idea! We need some better low level necromancy spells.

The New Slarcians (I really need help with this guys)...My players, please don't look

Okay, basically anyone who knows about the scarred lands knows about the slarcians (slarecians?...whatever). They're an extinct race destroyed by the gods who left behind strange and dangerous creatures, constructs, and technology (ie magical items). They are how psionics are incorporated into...

wow, I completely forgot about this thread with all the stuff I've been doing! Rel, you couldn't have captured the exact things we go through practically every other session in my campaign. Just remove the druid, and add a little bit of metagaming magic to the wizard, and it's perfect. :D...

Gouge, Mugnutz, or the hound master...decisions decisions... I guess I'll have preference for the hound master, unless he's already taken in which I'll take Mugnutz the previously blue.
