Actually, that look is from the Mordenkainen's Disjunction that V throw at him. If you look closer, you'll see that the Disjunction beam is white, while the disintegrate is green.
That is a very good catch, SPoD!
Also, does anyone else thing it is ironic that a quickened spell in OotS, in this case Disintegrate, actually takes longer to cast than a standard spell? Seeing as you have to add the 'quicken' to it. :p
I am happy to see that there is so much 3E support out there. I knew about Pathfinder, but none of the rest. When 4E first came out, most of my D&D group were sad that Wizards had abandoned them; there was much joy in hearing about Pathfinder. And now there is even more!
:D:D:D:D!
Keep in mind that Frankthedm hates his players, so his advice should be taken with a grain of salt.
Seriously, why is it that every time any player anywhere wants to do anything outside of the box, frankthedm assumes that said player is "trying to take advantage of the system?"
That being...
I'm looking for a good magic item that takes up the head slot for my character. I just leveled :D. He is a human Beguiler 1/Wizard 4/ Ultimate Magus 1. The plan is to craft a magic item for the head slot, and then enchant it to give a +2 to his Intelligence score, as per the rules listed in the...
I, too, agree with this.
Also, I am very intrigued at the thought of Nehael and the Adversary sitting down for afternoon tea; the conversation is bound to be interesting. I hope we will have the pleasure of reading it.
Thanks for the update, Sep! :)
I like spell thematics. the only problem I have with it that it sort of locks all of your spells in that them, which can get very boring and predictable after a time.
Thankfully, I don't need a feat to describe how my spells like and sound. The only bad part is that there is a tendency for...
To me, the quintessential paladin is Samurai Jack. He is lawful good down to the bone, dedicates his life to fighting Aku, and does it without stepping on the little man (heck, he usually fails in his quest to find a portal to the past because he has to save someone).
Samurai Jack FTW!!
How is it an "abuse" if characters actually use their spells to good effect? If an cleric wishes to blow most of his spells buffing someone for one combat, I don't think he should automatically get shot down for it. Heck, most of those spells have a minute per level duration. But then, I, unlike...
Perhaps you should clarify what you mean by "get them out of the picture" in the future. If a dragon ambushed them, what was it's purpose? To scare them? Was it after their loot from the start? Because all I can tell from your post is that the dragon descends and attacks, and the PC's "stupidly"...
Some thoughts:
1. What was the point to all this? What I mean is, why the deuce would you even give the PC's the option of surrender when that seems counter to what the dragon wants, which is from my understanding, to weaken its enemies by killing a few of their members. Why not simply kill...
I am very familiar with Sep's storyhour; the magic-users all have so mych flavor its disgusting :p.
I really like the stuff on Spell Paths, it's very interesting work. The Eldritch Weaver cool, but I'm not sure if my DM would go for it.
That's a good idea; blasting spells have bored me for years, anyway. If you've seen one fireball, you've seen them all.
Magic has interested me since I started playing back in the 2E days. My problem is that many of the spells (the core spells specifically) have been done to death. Magic...
Lately, magic has seemed bland and boring to me. I'm going to be playing a wizard in an up coming campaign, and I want to inject some mystery into his magic. So I ask the good people of EN World: what do you do to make your magic-users seem more magical? Does he have any odd traits? Do strange...
