Supernatural RPG. . . what happened?

My DM recently ordered it on Amazon. He says that it will be shipped in January 2010; I guess the release date got pushed back by a year or so.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder: How Should it Handle High Level Dependence on Magic Items, ie the "Big 6"

I voted for 7. You can't really eliminate the "Big 6" from the game without rendering high level characters helpless. The system (Pathfinder, 3E) is built around the characters getting these items to boost the characters effectiveness. For example, without stat boosting items, the spell casters...

    Oots 626!!

Didn't the original Black Dragon they fought say that his mother taught him how to speak lizard, because it was important to study other cultures? That and the fact that the dragon guarding the star metal was a young adult seems to suggest that this dragon is indeed its mother. Poor V.:(

    Oots 624

That was Harkle Harpell, and the spell was "Bigby's Snapping Digits." Harkle wasn't really a wild mage... he was a Harpell. Which is much worse.

    Sculpt Spell

I don't agree with this. I believe that you get to choose when the spell is actually cast, similar to the Resist/Protection from Energy spell, which allows you to pick the energy when you cast. Other wise, the feat is of extremely limited use to casters who prepare their spells ahead of time.

    PVP Wizards?

One of the main reasons I like playing wizards is the never-ending quest to find more spells. There is nothing as thrilling as finding/stealing a spell book. But nowadays, it is easier to just stroll down the street and buy a scroll with the spells you want. Since the advent of item creations...

Separating Crunch and Fluff at Character Creation

It sounds to me like this other player suffers from the Stormwind Fallacy, which goes something like: I am a roleplayer; thus I do not min-max. I purposely make all my characters weak in at least some ways; that makes them better roleplayed. You're dishing out thousands of damage per hit...

    Help with an Archivist

So, I'm making an Archivist to replace my poor, dead Halfling cleric (he was roasted by a Repeated, Empowered Fireball :.-() and I'm looking for some tips or suggestions. The stats I rolled are: 18, 16, 14, 13, 13, 11. The character is going to start out at 11th level, and my DM is pretty...

    Sorcerer Spells Known Feat: Overpowered?

I am one of those people. I've never understood why the designers of the game feel spontaneous casting is worth: getting access to spells a level later than the other primary casters, having to spend a full round action to use metamagic, getting no class features beyond a familiar (which many...

    OotS #621 Is Up....

Celia irritates me to no end. Every time that dumb little sylph opens her mouth, I just want Haley to punch her.

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

The lameness of 4E aside, when can we expect another update?

    Aeon (updated 10/9/14)

Graz'zt and his retainers had most of the portable wealth/magic items or Azzagrat with them, along with who knows what else. And perhaps the Urn.

"Stuck" playing 4e (i.e. unwilling converts)

That is how I feel, in a nutshell, about 4th Ed. I couldn't have said it better myself. I much prefer football :)

Anyone knows how to deal even more damage?

Get a weapon with the Hunter enchantment on it. I don't have my books with me, but Hunter increases the bonuses granted by your favored enemy. It's listed in the MIC.

First Time DM'ing 3.5 Sorcerer... Should I Be Worried?

The only advantage a sorcerer has over a wizard, or any other magic user, is the ability to cast a spell over and over and over. They have a very limited number of spells known, so naturally they will constantly cast the same spell: that's what the designers intended. Calling that cheesy is...

What are some of your favorite Magic Items from previous editions?

I see that the Staff of the Magi is a favorite of a lot of people. Why is that? Is it because it was different in earlier editions, or simply because no one actually gets a Staff of the Magi in 3rd/4th edition?

    Problem player in my group

So here's what's happening thus far: Fred and Renfield (my DM) had a sit down this weekend. Fred got all of things that was upsetting him out in the open; some of it was legit (that's what our DM told me, anyway), and other parts was just whining as far as I can tell. At this point in time...
