    Maybe not, for a multi-classed cleric/wizard, but if you have a character with 10 levels in mystic theurge, there will be an extreme increase in caster level.

    I believe that would be easier, but the base of this build will probably be the cleric class, since I'm interested in the domains, turning undead and all those nice features. Wisdom will have to be the highest ability score.

    Well, the core M&M handles other genres fine enough, IMO. Even low fantasy can be emulated if you manage to tune down the power level without crippling the characters. If you're aiming for something more realistic, though, I believe there are systems better fit than M&M.
