Was V's act evil? (Probable spoilers!)

This dragon toyed with with me and my family, broke the legs of my children, tied my spouse up to a tree to watch them die. All because why? It was stupid enough to leave its kid guarding a ton of treasure in a world where it's PATENTLY CLEAR that adventurers will go after said treasure...

    Does 4th edition hinder roleplaying?

Maybe don't pick your players up from a methadone clinic, then? This isn't 4E's fault. Any game system will have people decrying it as too tedious or rules-heavy. It's the nature of our hobby. Play a different game, then.

What character would you play, by role?

Well, I can play almost any class and have fun with it, so I'd have to take a look at what the rest of the party is composed of and try to work in some good tactics and what-not. But in general... STRIKER: Deva Avenger. "The thousand lives I've lived have given me myriad ways to kill you...

    Avenger Impressions

I'd definitely agree with this, having played both a Druid and Bard. Missing still sucks, but you don't feel like the whole thing was a waste. I'm a big fan of that shift, too. People need to loosen up on their dailies!

    Finally, in PHB2, WINGS!

Fly, charge, grapple NPC, make sure they fall with you, have the fighter mark 'em, done. And c'mon, hopping around isn't fun. Think of it as tactically-minded leaps and bounds, using the wings to maneuver deftly. Plus, if enemies get too far away into the air, they're begging for a controller...

Art: Bloodfury Savage: Since when do half-orcs shave their pits.

Well, people are stupid. Breasts, on the other hand, are fantastic. So I'm going to chalk this up as a win for gamers in general.

Me too, but with Dragonborn, I'm just not seeing it. So the females have breasts? Who cares? They have to store milk somewhere.

No defined NIPPLES, buddy. Breasts are still fair game.

Who voted against the Avenger? It's like a vote against FUN!

    Design and Development: The Deva

I think, however, they'll make really great Avengers, which suits me just fine. :)

    Let's Speculate - Arcane Power

As far as Warlocks go, it's a little pipe dream of mine that they might have alternate curse mechanics for each pact. I don't think it's in the cards, though.

    WoTC Interview with Rob Heinsoo

Ahhh. Well, that's just a problem with level-based systems in general, in my opinion. There's always a cut-off point, whether it's a hard cut (4E's "nothing beyond 30") or a soft one (3E's "We kinda-sorta worked out some epic level rules for you"). Maybe now that the GSL has been loosened...

Well, the game doesn't end, just character advancement by level.

    WoTC Interview with Rob Heinsoo

Yeah, exactly. Really, WotC's marketing of 4E was pretty much in dire straits from the beginning, since it was basically in competition with itself. Ultimately, it's a problem stemming from terms such as "improvements." With almost 8 years of support and history behind it, 3E is still a...

    WoTC Interview with Rob Heinsoo

Hey, I'm with you, I love 4E as well. I just feel it's a strong enough system that it could have been explained and marketed with little reference to the prior edition. For instance, why even mention that the "sweet spot" has been extended to all 30 levels? People are going to find this out...

What Class are you? Fun tool from WOTC promoting PHB II

I could see a Bard getting behind that. A Bard who always trains out a power every level, even to something he previously had, changing up the "composition" of the campaign so to speak. Man, newbs have the best ideas.

    WoTC Interview with Rob Heinsoo

Talking about the problems of an edition still supported by a thriving OGL and such established companies as Paizo isn't saying it sucks, but it's close. "Here's a reason for change, and here's the change we made." The problem is, many consumers saw this as simply "There's a problem with what...
