D&D 3.x Coming back to D&D after 15 years.... Vow of poverty problems (3.5)

I wish to add my 2 cents to this topic. Cent 1: If your running, a combat oriented story where there aren't many magic items, then yes the VoP is strong. Cent 2: If your story is more RP orientated then the PC with VoP is very limited and must play a very specific character. In other words out...

    D&D 3.x Going back to 3.5 - advice?

For your 4th edition problem I would say, like many before me, shorten the fights, I myself would even go as far as to say, remove them, only have fights when its really needed. And for the 3.5 thing, the only prep you need is a laptop with all the books (we don't buy books, there expensive and...

    Warforged and cursed items

I myself find it fair, a druid could do the same with lets say regeneration, I would even allow a "place to the stump and heal it" solution. You could make the ring appear on he's other hand as a solution to make him only remove it vie remove curse, or any other body part, maybe even let it...

Harmonium Peacekeeper - Mount calculation problems

Why did you even mention Sigil in the first place? Arcadia is a plane of its own... never mind. XD

Harmonium Peacekeeper - Mount calculation problems

Sorry I simplified that part. "When the Harmonium peacekeeper isn't using it, the mount grazes placidly in pastures near the Harmonium's castle on Arcadia" I guess there alright near a place where more of there kind reside. :) But yea Sigil is a bit of a cluster f*** when it comes to evil beings.

Harmonium Peacekeeper - Mount calculation problems

What I forgot to mention that Special Mount is not a requirement for the prestige class. Oh my bad, yea i get it. What I thought was that the "as a 5th level Paladin" part only is for non-paladins. Explanation: Cause the paladin gets a mount at 5th level, so a non-paladin taking this Prestige...

Harmonium Peacekeeper - Mount calculation problems

Hi guys. My predicament for this time involves the Harmonium Peacekeeper from Dragon Magazine #315. The problem is that its not that clear on one of its abilities. (for me at least). "Special Mount: The Harmonium Peacekeeper gains a special mount equivalent to what a 5th-level paladin would...

    What whould Olidammara do?

Well F... thread closed. Our regular DM, the aforementioned guy who is making a new character, got pissed and is gonna take the reins. So dilemma solved...tho I'm sad that i wanted to play this situation out. Thnx for the help tho.

    What whould Olidammara do?

Hmm yea, I never thought of placing my character faith in his deity in this situation. I was purely concentrating on saying "no" to the heroism that is being forced on us... by a being of questionable morals...(gave us evil amulets).

    What whould Olidammara do?

    Hi guys. Basic info: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Character: CN - Whisper Gnome - Rogue 4 // Cleric 4 (Olidammara) - Gestalt [Rolls were - 18, 18, 17, 17, 16, 16 (I know... :P )] - Traded turn undead for Prestidigitation at will (Say...

GMs & DMs: What do you do with (severely) unbalanced adventuring parties?

Here are my 2 cents about your problem Jon_Dahl. In short: D&D is an RPG, its a sandbox game, where the players are only limited by there imaginations and DMs. Problems a can be solved many ways and players should be never forced to play in the manner YOU the DM imagined. And never forget a...

Question - Lycanthropy and Knowledge check

Question - Lycanthropy and Knowledge check

Hi. Quick question: which knowledge check do you need to identify a Were-Animal (a Lycanthrope), and know about the cure for its infection?

    Prestidigitation - Just some questions.

Well with some common sense, yes. But if we used common sense then everyone would need to roll fort vs being pushed back by a fireball, or fort vs heart failure when struck by any lightening spell. Or critical would work on undead and constructs. An example for Change was: Paper -> Linen -> A...

    Prestidigitation - Just some questions.

Hello everyone! I have been reading Fun with Prestidigitation from Tome and Blood (here), and what I noticed what that the "Change" part of the spell is rather strong, and poorly worded and hence it can be really abused (that is IMO)...

Warlocks are too anime and overpowered

There are so many animes that you can fit any mold. These are all off the top of my head. Barbarian - Every character in an anime that gets pissed, that or if you want something specific then Orson from Record of Lodoss Wars Bard - Tapion from Dragonball Z, Oji Tanaka (The Legend of Black...

    Binder and Shape Change

Yea but with that premiss then the problem is with the casters. But lets just stick with the OP.

    Binder and Shape Change

Anyone has anything else to say? Cause this feels a bit strange/weird... Running around as a Balor in a +4 Full Plate Medium Fortification armor, with the Pseudonatural Template... and some other stuff that don't even come close to the Balor Fullplate awesomeness. :P

    Binder and Shape Change

Hi all. D&D 3.5 - with no erretas So we started playing a new campaign. We are gestalt and level 18. Since I got one 18 and the rest of the rolls were 14-15 (High powered). I decided to make a Binder/Sorcerer + Anima Mage, for that persistent Shape Change. No that I re-read shape change I...
