World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

I don't think that will work. In order to grapple someone you have to reach into their square to grab them. This triggers an AoO even if you are 10' away since your hands/arms are closer. So, yes it will trigger an AoO and if the character hits the grapple attempt fails. Though it won't work...

    Healing a downed companion

Per the rules it does not... but seems like it should as the closest thing to touching a person laying on the ground is 'Pick up an item' as that does cause an AoO. rv

Do the effects of Waves of Fatigue & Ray of Exhaustion stack?

This was my thought as well. But the text of RoE says the effect goes away when the spell duration ends so its not really making you fatigued but making you feel like you are... if you know what I mean. :) Thanks for the input guys. rv

World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

Been a long time for an update in my game... Chararcters are 12th level and are basing their adventures out of G. They think they know where the Sacred Flame is at but so far are unable to reach it. This was kinda fun. The players hit the demon lair in the SE corner of G. They blow though the...

World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

Can't the Giants use the bolder as a hand weapon and squish people with it? Treat it as an improvised club maybe. In my game I've handwaved the no cost material components figuring they can get most of them from either the Garrison or from what ever is around them. Ones that cost $$ though...

Do the effects of Waves of Fatigue & Ray of Exhaustion stack?

A player wants to know if he hits a group with WoF http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/wavesOfFatigue.htm (no save, auto fatigued) and then starts to hit individule tagets with RoE http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/rayOfExhaustion.htm (Ray, if fails fort save Exhausted else fatigued) will the...

World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

I use it to run the Worlds Largest Dungeon! :) I use Fantasy Grounds to run a game every Thursday night. We run Skype in conjunction with FG for voice communication. FG allows each person to log in with their character, to roll virtual dice, see the maps and images I share with them and to...

World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

(Ponders...) I've not used VT software like this yet just seen some posts by others who have and I've not really paid attn to the details of those posts. What I THINK you could do is use a laptop and slave a 2nd monitor to it (you can do that right?). You bring up the map and have one token on...

World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

This is an area that using VT software excels at... no mapping! And, since you can 'mask' the map and reveal it as the players move they still have to explore the map as they go. Going back to sitting at the table and having to draw a map would be painful. There are some people that are using...

World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

As much as I hate metagaming, I do it for the transition between regions. In part this is because I'm using Virtual Table software and need to bring up a whole new map when they hit the end of the one they are currently in. The other part is to stop them from getting in over their head. Now...

Whew. I was trying to think of a way to only let your TV show the Food Network. :) rv

World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

Running it pretty much 'as is' here. I read each section before the group hits it and read the rooms in the direction they are going to go in more detail. The problem with this, and one you will face as well, is that the party will end up going in directions you did not anticipate. The rats did...

Does that include the breakfast pastries that someone brings in? Those are very nice as something to eat in the morning so I don't have to stop at a fast food place on the way. I don't think that hits GP in the pocket as I'm not going to eat a candy bar for breakfast. :) rv

Yep. I noticed this is happening after I started to show up to Gameday's. It's hard for me to take all the credit... but shucks, its also hard to be as popular a guy as I obviously am. :) :) rv

    Do you play online D&D?

What a colossal pain! Since we are 'just' running the WLD, nothing fancy here... make up a character and with some min. amount of handwaving on my side about how you got into the WLD in the first place and away you go! It does sound like you are hitting the wrong groups. Check out FG's 'Guild'...

    Do you play online D&D?

Free is good. :) We started with FG about 2 years ago. The VT field was a bit sparser then. The only ones I knew about was FG, KloogeWerks, openrpg and screenmonkey. Of those I liked FG the best. Now that we've paid for it, its in our best interest (most value for the money) to keep using...

    Do you play online D&D?

Yes, once a week on Thursdays with Fantasy Grounds VT. Had a game last night and it went well except all MY guys (as DM) died. Again! Sigh. :) rv

How long are your weekly rpg sessions?

We run weekly on Thursday nights via Fantasy Grounds usually from 7:00ish to 11:00ish. Sometimes later to finish up a fight or ealier if we hit a good stopping point. rv
