D&D General D&D Luminary Jim 'Drawmij' Ward Passes

He was very active on Facebook groups, up until just a few days ago. This is quite a shock.

D&D General Explain Bounded Accuracy to Me (As if I Was Five)

This morning I am having a laugh at the irony that the discussion is now 66 pages long, and the title "Explain it to me like I'm five years old." By which time, the hypothetical five-year old would have long left the room to go play Legos while his Uncles continued to bicker and joust until...

Steamforged Games Making the Tales of the Valiant Starter Set

The Dungeon Dudes reviewed it and couldn't stop gushing about it, and from what I gathered, I'd agree. Was the PF2E set designed by SFG both in terms with the physical components but the game design elements? I'm curious how much they influenced the design of the character sheets that the...

WotC Vecna Eve of Ruin: Everything You Need To Know

It's Crisis on Infinite Earths and Vecna is the Anti-Monitor, and I for one, don't mind that at all.

How Do You Like Your Post Apocalyptic RPGs?

Another Post-Apocalyptic interstellar setting is the Hyperion Cantos universe of Simmons, particularly Endymion. The gates have all been destroyed, and a society that is overly-dependent on them has utterly and literally collapsed. Endymion takes place 275 years later after the Fall (the name...

D&D Movie/TV Joe Manganiello: Dragonlance TV Show No Longer In Development

This is the first I've ever heard of this and I'm in love with it already and I haven't clicked on the link.

D&D Movie/TV Joe Manganiello: Dragonlance TV Show No Longer In Development

I went back and watched it again with the lens of OGLgate and it occurred to me that Regime may be code for Hasbro C-Level, not WOTC dev team and it occurred to me that he isn't sour graping any more than people did during OGLgate.

D&D Movie/TV Joe Manganiello: Dragonlance TV Show No Longer In Development

My only observation is that Joe Manganiello's not a showrunner.

D&D Movie/TV Joe Manganiello: Dragonlance TV Show No Longer In Development

I did mention it - "the Golden Age of Streaming is over" - I only mentioned HBO however because it was the one that Joe mentioned in the video.

There was, and is a saturation of both, given how the market/appetite has shrunken over the years.

Dragonriders of Pern "society"- anyone recall?

A lot of people suggest reading books in chronological order instead of publishing order, but I never will be one of them. I don't wish to take away from the magic you experienced at the formative age of 11 - I can definitely see how Dawn would be eye-opening as a first book. But the gradual...

D&D Movie/TV Joe Manganiello: Dragonlance TV Show No Longer In Development

it's not a negative - it's an opportunity! I'm seriously this close to getting my youngest sibs and their spouses into an RPG - just have to find the right game. I floated Alien just as a "really cool game that is just like the movie" but that bait hasn't caught yet. They're all really big...

D&D Movie/TV Joe Manganiello: Dragonlance TV Show No Longer In Development

It had Mimics, the Cartoon Kids, Intellect Devourers and Dialogue reminiscent of a bunch of people sitting around a table (according to my brother, who has never played D&D). It was D&D dude.

D&D Movie/TV Joe Manganiello: Dragonlance TV Show No Longer In Development

It's one of things he said that I believe was his observation/opinion, as opposed to feedback or news given to him by others. Notice the change in body language and tone of voice, and the way he trails away at the end of the sentence, with a reluctance to attribute it as a definitive fact. It...

Dragonriders of Pern "society"- anyone recall?

Yes! I completely forgot about the local chapters being named Weyrs! Thanks for the memory recall! IIRC, there were some 'abuses' of her setting early on that prompted that reaction (her response back then was cautious approval but no new dragon colors). People started adding different...
