What's your favorite "basic" race to play (and why)?

Human. The extra feat and skill points are awesome mechanically, as well as it's easy to rp one.

    Your "social setting"

"My own social structure based on the effects of magic and historical events of my campaign world." My game centers on a human meritocratic magocracy. It is based on feudal europe's elements (serfdom, landed families) but is gender-egalitarian, and has an intricate system of trade between...

    Favorite Character...

Maru Schbeiker, Female Human Wizard 8. She started as a blaster mage in a hack'n'slash game. Social tensions ruptured our gaming group, and what started as an undead battle game became a serious rpg, and Maru became a study in human social defense mechanisms. Plus, she's hot. \oo/_

    Familiars

Familiars get treated almost as comic devices IMC. They're passably immune to comic violence (Wile E. Coyote) but if it got serious, yeah, I'd kill a familiar.

    The Golden Age of Gaming

I gather the "golden age" to be the initial explosion of d20 publishers when the OGL/D20 System License first came to light.

Psionics: great taste or better system?

Personally, I'd like to see psionics remain an expansion, the wizard to stay the way he is, and the warlock to replace the sorcerer.

    How do you discribe combat?

Over the top - kinda a matrixy style of combat - even the party tank is kinda quicklike - think nightmare from Soul Calibur. The players seem to like it.

    Ravage of the Mephits

It's a 4th level spell to conjure a single mephit. A 5th level spell calls out 1d3 mephits, and a 6th level spell to get 1d4+1 mephits. That being said, I could understand demoting Ravage of the Mephits to a 6th level spell, given that it conjures only mephits as opposed to the wide list that...

    Ravage of the Mephits

Delezar Ketaris sneered at his opponents, a conturbium (12 men) of soldiers from House Hatecraft. Seeking to even the odds, he reached into his spell pouch and felt several rocks inside. A sneer became a smile, as he hurled the rocks, ten of them, at the feet of the soldiers. He spoke a few...

Paladin vs Blackguard question of bias

Think of it like this - Good is trusting. You don't need to prove yourself to a good person - they believe you to be honest. Evil, you need to prove yourself, because evil is ruthless, seeing things in black and white.
