    Mage Teas

No hydropneumatic devices were harmed in the making of these teas :p

    Alternative Arcane Caster

That could certainly work. Perhaps we should start with weaker castings dealing subdual/nonlethal damage, and progress to a threshold where it becomes physical?

    Mage Teas

Yeah, now that i realize it, by and large, these *are* potions, given that they need the Brew Potion feat.

    Alternative Arcane Caster

Hm. I'd take an odd angle on this one. Don't make it a class. Make it a feat tree, with moderately expensive magical items that allow SLAs with the necessary feat required.

That's kinda cool. I reserve the right to borrow that one.

    learning spell costs without spellbooks

Perhaps, for a flashy look, by making beaded jewelry for each spell. For example, a complicated four-row armlet of clear and blue beads is the mage's notation for ice storm.

    Mage Teas

I see your point. Perhaps a cantrip could fix the hot water problem. Perhaps it could be postulated that tea keeps its magic for 8 hours. Or maybe it could keep indefinetly. Would that be unbalancing?

    Mage Teas

I figure you'd need to take powdered tea with you, and brew it on the spot. A Balcunian Tea Device would make this a full round action to make.

    Mage Teas

The creation costs are implied. The values listed with the items are merely market values. The cost to create, for example, a cup of Fine Coulubra Gold tea would require the maker have the brew potion and empower spell feats, 10 ranks in knowledge (herbalism), spend half of 3250 (1625 gp) and...

    Mage Teas

Well, it could happen. The balcunians did invent a device to make tea in less than a minute, provided hot water is availiable. Balcunian tea is powdered, much like traditional Japanese green tea. it is added to the defuser vial, while warm water is placed in the drinking vessel. A small...

    Mage Teas

Ethy set a black powder in a small vial, and then flushed water through it, which flowed down an elaborate system of tubes into a large glass vessel, capped the top with her palm and began to breathe through a pipe from the larger vessel, bubbling the liquid in the large vessel. After a few...

D&D 4E Would you have alignment in 4e?

I like alignment. Alignment is a phrase you put on your character sheet to describe the character in short. For the longhand explanation, that's on the player.

Is there such a thing as a Biomancer?

well, i think its all a term of naming. In my campaign, Necromancy is referred to in public with the politically correct name of "Vivimancy" which means "the magic of life".
