    Starting in comics

In all fairness to JMS and Amazing Spider-man, this explanation was never confirmed as true in the book (it was just Ezekiel's suggesting to Spidey that there might be other possibilities) and it hasn't been brought up since that story line resolved.

    Starting in comics

Let me add my vote to some of what Chun-tzu said. Although I haven't had the opportunity to read it in it's entirety yet, Kevin Smith's Green Arrow looks promising, as does his current work in the Spider-man/Black Cat mini series. And you absoultely, positively can NOT go wrong with anything...

    Starting in comics

I would recommend any of the books being put out by CrossGen Comics. My highest recommendations go to Sojourn and Ruse. They are weaving an intricate story that runs through all of their books in one way or another. It's usually done in the background, though, and it's not necessary to pick up...

PJ's LotR: non-flame-based discussion on what bothered you about it

I have to disagree here. Pippin didn't blunder and dash out of hiding. He and Merry intentionally jumped out to distract the Uruk-Hai from Frodo so Frodo could escape.

PJ's LotR: non-flame-based discussion on what bothered you about it

It's not that I minded it so much as it just struck me as wrong for Gandalf to be the one who said it. I mean, he knows that something powerful lurks in Moria and that going there is just plain bad news. He would be the last person to force Frodo to make such an uninformed and spontaneous...

The Rat Bastard Campaign Chronicle (Updated 3/28/05)

Chapter 3 - The Dwarven Ruins, Part 2 Suddenly, something shot out of the shadows and grabbed Jeb by the throat, dragging him back towards the debris. The others turned at Jeb’s strangled cry just in time to see the choker drag him up towards what remained of the rafters. Once again, they ran...

PJ's LotR: non-flame-based discussion on what bothered you about it

The one thing that bugged me the most, other than the deletion of the gift giving scene, is when Saruman has just blocked their passage on Caradras and they're arguing about whether or not to go through Moria. When Gandalf says "We'll let the Ring bearer decide", that just didn't sit well with...

    [RUMORS]Buffy new season... When?

Two of the things that I've heard: 1. Willow is in England with Giles as part of her dealing with the repercusions of last season (what that means specifically, I don't know). 2. Giles will be in 10 episodes next season.

[PR BAD AXE GAMES] Heroes of High Favor: HALF-ORCS

Ok, you got me there. I was trying to be all coy and secretive about the playtesting so as not to make everyone jealous because I'VE SEEN THE WHOLE FRIGGIN' BOOK!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!! Um... er... yeah. And I will try to be there to ask it. I have some family typ running around stuff to do...

[PR BAD AXE GAMES] Heroes of High Favor: HALF-ORCS

From what I've seen of the Half-Orc book, I think it's better than the Dwarf book (and I thought the Dwarf book rocked!). I have to admit I've been curious as to how you'll approach humans & half-elves as well. Since neither of them have a favored class, will it be a combined book, or are you...

GenCon 2003 in Indy -- Why it will be better

I'm with Chaldfront here. There's no way it's taking you 14 hours to get to Indy unless you're taking back roads. We made it from Indy to Milwaukee in 5 hours and change and that includes an hour off for lunch.

The Rat Bastard Campaign Chronicle (Updated 3/28/05)

Chapter 3: The Dwarven Ruins, Part 1 The group waited patiently for Jackie to join them. Once he had, they continued the discussion of what they should do next. Ostler, Shuglin and Chao were in favor of heading back to Travensburg. The rest wanted to follow the tracks to see if there were more...

GenCon 2003 in Indy -- Why it will be better

Really? You must have been staying in a different Milwaukee than I was this year... The area around the Indy convention center is nowhere near as rundown and dirty looking as alot of Downtown Milwaukee that I've seen over the past few years. Don't get me wrong, I liked Milwaukee, but Downtown...

What movie is this line from! (Some Movie Spoilers)

Re: Here are some more to entertain you. Han Solo when reporting back to Echo Base about the Probe Droid on Hoth. Any one of a gazillion movies. If the last line is supposed to be Gandalf in Fellowship of the Ring, the correct line is "Fly, you fools".

How close to the game should a story hour be?

Wulf's Wulf's Story Hour is the perfect example of what I want to read in a story hour and what I try to acheive when writing my own. You know there's a game going on in there, but it doesn't smack you in the head with the obviousness of it. Subtle is the way to go, IMHO.

Wulf's Collected Story Hour -- FINAL UPDATE 12/25

Hey Nemmerle!! [Shameless Plug] I don't know how easily printable it is (a simple cut & paste should work), but you can read the entire story so far without all the chatter at our website. All there with Wulf's kind permission, of course. Actually, it's missing the last update, I think, but...

The Rat Bastard Campaign Chronicle (Updated 3/28/05)

Good point. Since I'd typed it up months ago, I forgot that it was quite so long. Also, since each chapter is one game session, I don't think about breaking them up when I write them. I will endeavour to do so when I post them here. Thanks. And as for Hugh, well... he IS one of those wussy...
