    It certainly is.

ToV Tales of the Valiant Starter Set

If they're books of adventures, what are the page counts of those things?

    Did the nerds win?

Nope. It was appropriated by thread-drifters. :D

D&D General How do you use dragons in your game?

Sparingly. My recent campaigns have each featured exactly one dragon, which has served as the big centrepiece challenge of the whole campaign - it may not have been the climactic encounter, and may not have been the most difficult encounter, but it has been the most elaborate. I have also tried...

What TTRPG Is Perfect and Complete In One Volume?

Given how well-regarded this is, and given that we now have several 3e and 5e near-clones, I'm surprised nobody has attempted to go a "complete in one" near-clone of modern D&D. Especially if aimed at experienced groups (meaning that a lot of DM-side material about prepping and running games can...

    Did the nerds win?

As I said to my reply to @Ruin Explorer, the least-complex game he seemed able to tolerate was Pathfinder 1st with all the options in play. But even that I think was a compromise because he just couldn't find a game mathematically-complex enough to scratch the itch (or maybe people to play it with).

Do you prefer your adventures to be episodic or contiguous?

The adventures and campaigns I write myself are always contiguous. For published adventures, I want them to match the advertising: if you're selling me an adventure, I prefer it to standalone; if you're selling me a campaign, I prefer the segments to be contiguous. (Anthologies of adventures...

New Trailer for Secret Level's D&D Episode Released

I've only seen the D&D episode thus far. It left me wanting more, so job done.

    Did the nerds win?

I found that one quite convenient - I have a huge number of the old VtM books, and then nothing from the Vampire line after that. Likewise, when Star Wars ditched the old EU, I stopped paying attention to anything that wasn't on-screen. Some nice savings there.

    Did the nerds win?

I think that was his compromise because he couldn't find a game that was mathematically complex enough to satisfy. Or perhaps not one that he could find anyone else willing to play.

    Did the nerds win?

Pathfinder 1, with all the supplements added, was the least complex he could tolerate. Which was rather unfortunate, because I couldn't face that, either. Fortunately, it was a reasonably wide group, so we were able to each do our own things without issue.

    Did the nerds win?

Not true. One of the members of my previous group bounced off 5e hard, precisely because it lacked the complexity that he craved.

    Did the nerds win?

Perhaps. Right now, though, it mostly feels like being bullied out of our spaces by the very people who bullied us into them in the first place.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL TRAILER | Joy to the World | Doctor Who

It looks good. I'm looking forward to it. However, I really wish they'd get away from the whole thing about "everyone leaving the Doctor". I don't mind a bit of sorrow, but they leaned into it hard in the last year of Tennant's run, then much of Smith's, then Capaldi's, then Whittaker's, then...

    Did the nerds win?

Time was, I found the word "toxic" to be a useful way for people to call out some truly reprehensible behaviours. Unfortunately, it has now become such a scattershot that these days I assume that if someone uses it in reference to another person it is them that is engaged in bullying - it's...

    Did the nerds win?

I'm not so bothered by that, but what has happened is that we've had a massive influx of people into our hobbies, to the point where those of us who have been here all along are massively outnumbered. Amongst other things, this means that 'nerd' productions must now be aimed at the mass market...

No. Geek media has been appropriated by the mainstream. All our base belong to them now.

D&D General Why Were the Dragon and Dungeon Magazines Discontinued?

D&D General Dark Sun as a Hopepunk Setting

I tend to agree. Although I'm inclined to suggest it's probably best to do a full-on reboot of the setting, meaning that the dead SK probably isn't Kalak and the free city probably isn't Tyr. Amongst other things, that could well mean that "Who Killed the King?" can be one of the mysteries at...
