Bloodied and why it is cool.

Minions are a great idea. Sorry you don't like the idea. Did you have a point about "bloodied" or are you trying to derail this into more edition-warring anti-4e tirades?

    You're comparing apples to oranges.

    Whats your D&Dism?

Your introduction smacks too much of edition warring. I can't see this thread being too useful, but I hope I'm proven wrong.

OK, Who stole my Cave Troll?!?!

According to the offline monster builder, the Cave Troll appeared in Dungeon #157.

    Identifying Magic Items

Wasn't that a lot of metagaming? I mean, he's clearly running down the list of Known Magic Items In The DMG (which his character really shouldn't have access to) as opposed to reasonably trying to figure out what the ring does.

Why do we really need HP to represent things other than physical injuries?

No, death spirals are crappy and don't actually improve D&D in any way.

Why do we really need HP to represent things other than physical injuries?

I see the potential for a healing module based on Streetwise rolls. :D

    Question on melee reach feats

Vexing Flanker doesn't do that. Are you sure you're talking about the right thing? Some feats -- e.g., Raging Reach -- don't require that you "have reach" but that you are "using a reach weapon." An ability which increases your melee reach does not make your weapon into a reach weapon, so it...

    Balancing Save-or-Die

How'sabout something simple like, Assassin class feature: During a surprise round, you can make a coup-de-grace attack against a surprised creature.

    Balancing Save-or-Die

Why would assassins in particular get "save or die" effects and other characters do not? I'm at a loss as to why you are thinking of this regarding one particular class -- there's no thematic/fluff/conceptual reason that an assassin could kill someone with one hit and a rogue, wizard, or...

    A Hit Point Proposal

Maybe you need to read up on the 4e rules before making statements about them, then? It's really hard when literally we are not on the same page in discussions because some of us don't know what "bloodied" means.

    Rule Option: Banshee Wail

If you want "save or die" in your game, then why not just make it a save-or-die effect?

    A Hit Point Proposal

It's not a "derogatory term," it's a value-neutral statement of a mechanic. (And "bloodied" in 4e is explicitly NOT a death spiral. In fact, in many conditions, characters become MORE powerful when bloodied, not less.)

    A Hit Point Proposal

No. No to death spirals, no to complex bookkeeping. Just, no.

    D&D 5E (2014) How should 5e handle rules problems?

4e's errata and fixes are free.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Next weekly art column!

D&D is not "based with the realities of human life" either. Someone has quite reasonably proposed a 50% standard that is demographically sound and presents a default vision of the D&D universe as being non-sexist. You object to that and are arguing that, by default, D&D must present a sexist...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Next weekly art column!

So you're saying that you not only want D&D to automatically impose sexism as the default play style, you also want that baked into the artistic representations of the game just in case someone might maybe get the idea that you could play D&D without sexist assumptions about female characters...

    Iteration.

That doesn't really mean much of anything; they began developing 3.5 immediately after the release of 3.0, and they likewise began developing 4e quite early into 3.5's lifetime.
