TSR TSR3.5 Launches IndieGogo Campaign to "Stop" WotC

I'm not so sure at this stage. Sunlight in the form of sites like 4chan and other sites and groups have lead to this becoming extremely common and amplified. People have tried to 'debate' with people who only want to hate and hurt others, and are not interested in debate. The best disinfectant...

TSR TSR3.5 Launches IndieGogo Campaign to "Stop" WotC

Leave Brittany Alone actually had a valid reason for being if I remember correctly, even if the woman who posted it acted a little... particular during the video. In retrospect, she was more right than she could have EVER known. NotTSR's actions are just dumb shite.

TSR TSR3.5 Launches IndieGogo Campaign to "Stop" WotC

I can't tell whether this is funny or sad at this point. On the one hand I feel somewhat bad for people giving money to this shite but... on the other hand, maybe them getting fleeced might teach them a lesson and keep RPG communities safer.

D&D 5E (2014) Silvery Barbs, how would you fix it? Does it need fixing?

The part granting advantage to another person seems a bit much for a first level spell. Either of those effects are pretty good. I'd probably remove the advantage part and make it a level two spell.

D&D General Wombo.art your character descriptions

Not sure about this wombo.art. I don't think it really captures her uh... look.

D&D 5E (2014) Using social skills on other PCs

I have a sneaking suspicion that the outcome Swarmkeeper means would be that they would argue with you or perhaps leave the game if you don't have a specific reason for them to roll to walk. The point being made I believe is that rolling to do basic non-combat character actions (in particular...

    D&D 5E (2014) On Representation and Roleplaying

You mean poorly... but nowhere near as bad as say, in particular, black people in the United States were treated? Or how Japanese people were treated during the Second World War? Like, being Irish wasn't easy in the US for a while, but Irish Americans became part of the mainstream and became an...

    D&D 5E (2014) On Representation and Roleplaying

I want to point out some things as well. In some ways, some cultures from Europe are appropriated*, though to a much less degree and with less harm than cultures not from Europe. For example, I don't think it's unfair to say that in the US, elements of Irish culture have been taken, used and...

    D&D 5E (2014) On Representation and Roleplaying

This is a really important point that should be emphasised. Sometimes people want to be represented by something close to what their lived reality is, and not just magic solutions that in some ways wipes out who they are.

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

Having done two years of it, it's an interesting way to be. I don't hate it, but I would prefer to be in an office and meeting people at-least some of the time. People absolutely must have the option however. I definitely want IT professionals to fight against any return to just the old system...

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

Paizo are near 15 to 20 years old; remote working even in high tech companies would have only been starting and not been a popular option back then. For an industry that was almost entirely about book products back then, I'd bet work from home and remoting wasn't even on the radar. Plus...

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

Somewhat relevant, somewhat not, but the price of rent is the exact reason I am buying an apartment, not renting, in Ireland. Where I want to live, to get a place similiar to what I'm getting in the centre of the city, close to where my workplace is, could cost two times to two and a half times...

Paizo Paizo union in the news on NPR

Great to hear there are more unionisation efforts across a wide variety of sectors and places. May they suceed.

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

While it is great Sean has found a place that is great to work with, there have been other incidents showing a great deal of the industry isn't great to work with. Though, hopefully with more awareness and pefople like Sean, Crystal and others out there, that these issues can be dealt with.

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

Not sure why you need to clarify it being perfectly legal. I'm familiar with US concepts of 'right to work'. Not sure what you're implying there. How does your work in union busting make you feel? Why did you do it? Did you go from forming unions to breaking unions, or vice versa? Then why do...

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

Oh, you've broken unions? What exactly do you mean by that? This is a thread about union issues. Seems like as part of that, since you care about unions and their work, that you would care as to why they have been formed? I'm pretty sure unions have been in a steep decline in the USA due to...

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

People who go into threads about subject x to say they don't care about subject x clearly do care about x. They care in that they want people to shut up and accept things as they are, whether for ideological reasons or because... well, you tell me. Like. This is just nonsense. Paizo has already...

D&D 5E (2014) Strixhaven Has Exams, Jobs, & Extracurricular Activities

Oh, right. Huh; then it is closer to Strength of Thousands and the Magaambya then I thought. At-least then the exams might actually test you on stuff you learned recently :V

D&D 5E (2014) Don't play "stupid" characters. It is ableist.

Life is not fair, that is true. Which is why we must ensure that life is as fair as possible and people have as good as possible of a life, free from violence, discrimination, and hate... no? And tackle the sources of unfairness, such as wealth inequality? And those who would style themselves...
