Interesting. I know that I ruled once when Fireball was cast onto the occupants of a rowing boat that a Reflex save meant that the PC's had dived over board to avoid the damage. This led to one heavily armoured non swimming Fighter just stoically took the spell to the chin.

Two questions: If your DM is only allowed to use the MM, then are you only allowed to use the PHB? Any Dragon? You do realise that Dragons have easily enough Intelligence to pick up character levels? This is not taking into account any MM Templates... My money is on the Dragon :D

I once played a street samurai in Shadowrun who had an estranged family. Worked very very well... My son got involved in a street gang and to start with I got the SR team to act as unnofficial muscle for what was a very low ranking street gang... When this attracted all the wrong attention...

I also really like Borormirs line "They have a cave troll" in Balin's Tomb. It is so wonderfully understated, especially considering all the mayhem that the troll causes once it actually appears.
