That really could use an update IMHO. And if they revisit Tarkir they might do a D&D book for it after all. But that will not be next year I think. And it wouldn't step on Kara Turs toes as much as Kamigawa, so that might not be a problem either.

Kara Tur is apart of the Forgottens and really popular, Kara Tur products sell well on dmsguild. Also what do you think those cultural consults are for, they are to update and improve cultural elements of Kara Tur and Zakhara.

Tarkir has more setting meat then Kamigawa but it shares two problems, one it to is over shadowed by Kara Tur, and secondly WotC wants a new MtG Asian themed setting, not the old ones, plus Tarkir has that weird 2 time line issue. I don't think they are going back to Kamigawa or Tarkir in mtg...
