The subprime crisis explained in pictures

Actually, a lot of children's books explain the sub-prime crisis very well. Just look for the story of the Emperor's New Clothes because that's a profound parallel of what happened.

    GenCon files Chapter 11

I'm sure it is. Chapter 11 is all too often a way of avoiding responsibility for one's actions... as well as its more legitimate uses.

    What's your favorite takeout?

In Singapore, my favourite takeout is very simple: Hainanese chicken rice. Lots of chilli sauce but white meat only and no skin or bone. A side order of dumpling soup goes down well. In Australia, my favourite takeout is chicken nasi goreng from a ship called Noodleland. It is actually better...

Will There Be a New Indiana Jones RPG?

Sometimes I wish I had children so I had a genuine reason to buy Lego despite being 39 years old.... ;) As for Indiana Jones, the RPG, I think Savage Worlds would be a better fit than d20 Modern.

    Looking for Demonic Appearance Generator?

It was in the Dungeon magazine with the last instalment of Maure Castle by Rob Kuntz. It was to allow you to roll up random (... blanking out right now on the name of the yugoloth). I'm 7,500 kms away from my books so I'll leave it to you to find someone to give you the next clue. ;)

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

I can understand Wizards wanting to protect themselves from any sort of legal risk as they are domiciled in the Land of Lawsuits. That said, there are numerous other places on the web that one can post so it's no big deal.

Notes from a Savage Worlds fantasy campaign (updated with 05/28/08 session notes!)...

Thanks to you both for your comments. I'm really looking forward to my first SW session, hopefully in about two weeks. I'll post the results either here or on the PEG boards.

Notes from a Savage Worlds fantasy campaign (updated with 05/28/08 session notes!)...

Thanks for your post too, Gothmog. When I'm next back in my own country we're going to try a session or two of SW to see if we all like it. I'm rather excited about the change largely because of the reduced prep time but, prep time is not the most important consideration, how it plays will...

Notes from a Savage Worlds fantasy campaign (updated with 05/28/08 session notes!)...

Thanks for posting this, Flynn. I'm currently considering converting my FR game to Savage Worlds and these sorts of posts help. What do your players like most?

    The RPGA and Fourth Edition

Bruce, I'm interested in what strategies the RPGA has for Living FR this time around considering that last time it became something of an abomination with silly names etc.... Will the leadership be ensuring that it doesn't become an unfunny parody once again?

    Interesting pirates campaign

No other suggestions... Savage Worlds would be perfect. Try the forums at www.rpg.net. A lot of people there have experience with lots of non-d20 games and might be able to give you some ideas (from what I understand, Spirit of the Century might be interesting as well).

Spelljammer Boxed Set Sells for $91 on E-Bay!

I was about the same... but now have significantly more. I moved things back from Singapore to Australia in 2002... and discovered that I had over 400 kgs of stuff! Oh well, I learnt my lesson. I keep all hard copies in Australia in my house which basically exists to store things and I have...

Large red dragon mini with only 5 fire resist...

Your argument is fundamentally flawed. The flaming sword is a sword, it is not part of the wielder. And the wielder would be damaged if he touched the flames. The nightmare's hooves are not attachments: its hooves actually are on fire! Oh, and its mane in some depictions I have seen. As for...

Large red dragon mini with only 5 fire resist...

This is one of the "small" things that could ensure I'll never even try 4E. I've always been bothered by illogical monster design. For example, the balor only became immune to fire in 3.5E despite being surrounded by some pretty serious magical flames since 1E (and possibly earlier). AFAIC, the...

    Binders vs Mummy Rot

I think the binder is so weak that perhaps an optimised bard is more useful! OK, that might be an exaggeration... but not by much. @OP: You seem to be upset that this binder hasn't been caught by mummy rot and that's about it. There is a general consensus amongst the replies that the binder is...

To what degree is the Realms still Greenwood's?

Ed still has certain rights to the Realms including, for example, if WotC decides to stop publishing ownership of the Realms returns to Ed. Rather than accepting my comment as "gospel", head to Candlekeep and read for yourself. As for the uber-NPCs, also remember that Ed's home game is not so...
