    Help vs. Scrying

well, there are a few spells that block scrying, the players could use these or find some sort of sanctuary (a place where someone has one of these spells permanently up). As for the bad guys not using a spell that would grant them access to a group of people they want dead, and the fact that...

Help me with my archer build?

uhhh, I don't believe IPC takes away the -4 penalty to firing in melee, which would allow you to choose which person you wanted to hit in a grapple, but hitting a guy fighting with your ally, well that's just a toss up :D .

Help me with my archer build?

yeah, the straight ranger poses a problem with the feats as you said, not getting precise shot until 9th level . If only halflings didn't have rogue as their favorite class, should I play a midget human perhaps :D

Help me with my archer build?

not really much flavor, just a general mounted archer. I think the halfling on a dog would be cool if it's not too much a sacrifice for the archer. I'm just looking for some good archer builds I could possibly use.

    Bringing back Ambidexterity

If I find myself needing to make two one handed checks that require dexterity in one round fairly often, I might think about taking the first one :D By which I mean I think it's an interesting idea for it, but I don't see myself getting much use out of it. Or am I missing a bunch of...

Battlemage Prestige Class (seeking better name among other t

they get damage increase for battle spells at first level, but they only gain access to battle spells at 2nd level? Seems like a bit of a wasted level to me...

    Lycanthropes and Size restriction

it wouldn't look right?!?!?! This is dnd, and this is a character morphing into an animal, I believe something isn't looking right already. :p I think you could just ignore it, that'd actually be pretty cool seeing a halfling turn into a T-Rex.

Quintessence - What is it good for?

plot device would definitely come to mind...how about traps? Take the normal pit trap, put a bunch of this stuff in the bottom, and pow, you fail your reflex save and you're trapped... it deals one damage a round, torture perhaps? :] or with the pit trap idea, maybe put it up to shoulder...

Getting hit with a bowl of soup

now, you're counting in the soup, but what about the bowls? I think adding str modifier plus 1d2-1d6 dmg depending on the heaviness of the bowl might be in order.

Sorcerer Fix - Continued from "D&D Rules" (PART 4)

I don't like the metamagic because it changes the casting time, and I'm not partial to the increased levels either. I'm just thinking like various abilities, some like are already there and some that modify either the lineage spells or all spells with (*insert*) descriptor. Possibly have one...

Help me with my archer build?

Okay, I was thinking of making a mounted archer, and was wondering if any of you guys that like to make archers had any input. First of all: what race? Currently I'm thinking between humans and halflings (I have something against elves, I don't know why). Halfings have to go with the...

Sorcerer Fix - Continued from "D&D Rules" (PART 4)

hmm, maybe give some abilities that enhance spells (that is IMO what the sorcerer is about anyways) like the ability to change somethign about the area of spells, enhance the range, DCs, or damage for spells with the descriptor. Perhaps have a list of abilities (somethign akin to talents from...

    Replacement for Cleave

hmmm, these feats do add the "moving in between" thing, but they seem to be almost like cleave but just a bit different, and in most casese worse. Cleave doesn't really get much action in any game I've played in, so I figure just leave it the same.

    High lvl "true name" spell!

sounds pretty cool...but I don't know about the true name thing... If you ARE using true names (which has been used so many times, it's kind of bothering me) then I'd think it wouldn't be powerful enough for the true name thing. And if you generally don't use the whole true name thing, then I...

Unhappy with masterwork, mithral, and such

100 + two times the amor price for full plate?!?! that's crazy for just -1 to the armor check penalty. It makes sense, but I'm just thinking about how I've never run into a problem with it before. To me it seems like a lot of things in DND, they sound kind of fishy, but at the moment they...

Expanding Skills- Knowledge and Contacts Subskills

Too late Jeff, I already found it :p. I think it's a really cool idea, in an abstract sort of way I guess you could use the knowledge of listen for knowing a sound when you hear it or something...I dunno. It doens't seem unbalancing at all to have some skills have it and some skills not...

What cover deos being submerged in water provide?

merfolk wars wouldn't get much accomplished now would they? :p I never realized there was a rule for this... I'd probalby just do concealment depending on the color of the liquid involved, or cover if they're pretty far under, especially against bludgeoning weapons.

Looking for alternatives to official Epic rules

13 years to get to level 21? Is it that you don't give out much experience, people die alot, or you just never hold sessions?

    Am I missing the point?

Read the PHB over about 3 times and run a couple failed campaigns and you'll be a pretty good DM :D That's what I did, I'd recommend finding someone who knows how to play pretty well to pick up on all the rules. Then again, the point of the thread is if making up rules is fine. It's...
