    D&D 3.x Are you done with 3e?

I'm done with 3.x, and no, I have no plans to move on to 4th. There are plenty of other games available that satisfy me more now. And gamers around who play them.

    What's so Hard About Grappling?

Why I don't like Grapple? This: But most especially, this: People who like to repeat over and over again that the Grapple rules are realistic, have obviously never grappled anyone in real life, in a real do-or-die situation. I have, many times, and ZombieRoboNinja's remarks are dead...

    Do you buy D&D Minis?

When they first came out, I bought one or two packs from each set. But I eventually wearied of it. Never getting the ones I wanted was one thing, the random aspect. I was also severely underwhelmed by the overall quality. As it stands now, I haven't bought a set in about two and a half years...

    Castles and crusades Questions:

Issue #4. The rules option there is by Davis Chenault, but to be honest, I don't think they are very well done. Kinda overpowered. The rules we use in our game for multi-classing are the ones by Dan Buter. Much more balanced.

    Castles and crusades Questions:

I'm currently playing a Rogue/Wizard. So, multiclassing is possible. There are a variety of variations that allow it. Our game is extremely low magic, and it works well, but then, all our games tend to be low magic.

Basic D&D: Did it hook you?

Nope. My group started right off with AD&D.

    Whiney players....

That's something that's seriously bugging me, too. Now, I know it's the norm of this sort of chat to often talk about someone who's not around, and likely never to be around, but Slaygrim has put some words in this fellow's mouth, but more than anything, he's put a hell of a lot of spin on his...

    Whiney players....

Man, what this thread really, really needs at this point is for the so-called "whiny player" to sign up, read the whole proceedings, and then in classic fashion, turn the whole thread on it's nose by posting HIS version of the tale. All I can do is hope...

Uncommon European and Asian RPG setting resources. . .

Expeditious Retreat covers large swaths of southern and central Asia in "Silk Road". Granted, it's not dedicated to India, but India is covered.

    Carved Nuke Dice Set!

I have several sets of their dice, and I've been using them exclusively for about half a year now. I'm rather fond of them. They really stand out at the table. But, I do admit that they can be somewhat difficult to read, especially for the other players. I've gotten into the habit of rolling the...

    Why the many Ranger variants?

Heck, I know one guy who plays nothing BUT Rangers. Has a nervous fit whenever someone suggests another class. I actually used to know 2 guys like that, but then I got better.

    D&D 3.x 3.5e Publishing Models in a 4e world

That right there is the single biggest thing that bugs me about the 4E OGL model. They are telling all the small publishers, basically, to find a new game to publish, or flip burgers for a year. Bugs me immensely. Oddly enough, I've ceased all purchases of 3.x hard and softbacks, personally...

    D&D 3.x Running Wilderlands Campaign- 4e or 3.5?

Wilderlands is largely system neutral. Use whatever system you want to use. But, I think Necromancer is out of the Wilderlands, and their new products, I assume, won't be related to the Wilderlands at all. Not to say they won't be usable, that would be silly, but the Widlerlands is pretty much...

What level is your current character?

These numbers always amaze me. In twenty-five years of gaming, I've never had a character into the double-digit levels. Ever. At another forum, someone asked for everyone's most powerful character ever, and I had an eighth level and a seventh level character to choose between. My current...

Castle & Crusades - who has tried it stuck with it?

I found the Bard easy and fun to play, and yeah, I played him as a Skald, too. What was hard was making the other players understand that he wasn't a 3.5 Bard. That he had better things to do in battle than stand around and strum a lute.
