    Experiences selling to Noble Knight?

Noble Knights is awesome. I've been burnt so many times in online trades and purchases, I didn't want to even give them a chance, but some of my friends kept suggesting them. Finally I dove in, and found out that everything I've heard said about NKG is true. NKG is now my preferred source for...

    I can't find a game group!

A couple of friends of mine moved to Tulsa in May. I know that they used to play D&D a long time ago, and are still involved in Ren Fair type things. Next time I talk to them, I'll mention this and see if they are interested in meeting. Good folks. Your last sentence above, though...

Do you still use your 3.0 books?

I only recently got rid of my 3.0 PHB, and almost immediately regretted it. Soon after, we dabbled around with a Dragonstar Campaign, and the 3.0 PHB was needed. Fortunately, there is a 3.0 SRD online. The splat books are gone, although I used them in a campaign as recently as two years ago. The...

Who are these guys: Rob Heinsoo, Andy Collins, James Wyatt

My current DM goes into a frothing rage whenever Andy Collins' name comes up, but it has something to do with Gamma World and Alternity. I can't quite keep it straight, because the words start spilling out so fast, and even over the telephone I can make out things crashing as his chihuahua's...

D&D 4E Mearls on 4E being computer game: "It's more like online poker."

Dragon Magazine. While not free, it was and remains the first choice of my compatriots. When Dragon is gone, as it soon shall be, they are all ready to close the curtain on Third Edition.

D&D 4E Mearls on 4E being computer game: "It's more like online poker."

Oh well. I tried. You must admit, it was a valiant effort. But right there, on the front page here at ENWorld, the words of the WotC crew demonstrate, repeatedly, that if you want the complete tools needed to play 4th Edition, you must be online. If you want to be privy to the latest news...

D&D 4E Mearls on 4E being computer game: "It's more like online poker."

Obviously, he is trying to subvert his overlords at WotC by implanting the idea of role playing enhanced with poker cards and chips, thus encouraging everyone subliminally to rush out and buy Aces & Eights.

D&D 4E Mearls on 4E being computer game: "It's more like online poker."

Part of what sucks so deeply for me personally in all of this is the fact that while every single player in the immediate and extended group I play with have computers and internet connections, virtually NONE of them have the time or inclination to carry any part of the game online beyond...

D&D 4E 4E: What we think we know

A small request to MerricB: For those of us who haven't been following this thread blow by blow, could you edit your OP to reflect any new tidbits that have been confirmed? Thanks, G

D&D 3.x 3E sucks, but keep playing it for next few months

Huh. My first reaction was that he was a French Canadian. Seeings how the Canadians are the root of all evil in this world. ;)

    D&D 4E Will you buy 4e?

The only publisher I purchase "sight unseen" is Necromancer. Green Ronin as well, before True D20, although I still buy their D20 products blind. Other than those two? Not many. Goodman Games has gotten much business from me, but I prefer to read up on the books first. Bastion as well. But...

    D&D 4E Will you buy 4e?

No. Besides the fact that I'm kind of burned out on 3.x, it's doubtful, highly doubtful, that anyone in the circle of folks I play with will want to switch. There are members of my group that haven't made the full commitment to 3.5 yet, for heaven's sake! That, and we've fully embraced 1st...

Is WoTC even relevant to you anymore?

I've stopped buying WotC books entirely. The last Wizards book I bought was either Tome of Magic or Dragon Magic. And the last several Wizards books I've bought all ended up being traded away. Mostly for 1st Edition books. I'm still spending way too much money on RPGs. Recently, Aces & Eights...

Anyone had a paladin Fall and then dropped the PC?

In 3.x, not a chance. I'd have the character commit seppuku. If, that is, the fall was completely my fault. If it was out of left field, DM decree? Me and the DM would be having a mighty long talk. However, I did play a fallen paladin for a long time in 1st Edition. Youthful indiscretion on...

    OotS: Start of Darkness

I enjoyed the heck out of Start of Darkness. Xykon got little in the way of character development, but hey, there's not much there to develop. I thought of the book as "The Start of Redcloak", and as such, found it endlessly fascinating and funny.

    Hexes are cool!

We recently did away with grids completely in our game, and couldn't be happier. Good Mark 1 eyeball gets it right every time. In another group, we tried hexes for a while, using UA rules. Didn't take.
