D&D 5E (2014) How often do you play?

We play once per week except when we don't.

    D&D 5E (2014) Natural Armor

I would not allow armor and natural armor to stack. I consider natural armor to be a no different than worn armor in how they affect AC.

D&D 5E (2014) Can someone please explain to me why there are still no PDFs for 5e core books?

This is an important point. If Mickey Mouse and Steamboat Willy entered the public domain, Disney could still continue to use Mickey Mouse to represent themselves with near exclusivity through trademark law. But, now other people could create Mickey Mouse stories, or a new take on Steamboat...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana - The 5E "Battlesystem" Mass Combat Rules Are Here!

Overall, it looks like a simple and useful system that would be fun to use. I do have a couple of gripes. First, I'd prefer they describe everything in feet, including speed and range, and then have a sidebar that describes the size and use of squares, just like they do in the PHB. So, instead...

D&D 5E (2014) DMs: How Old Are You?

Your age ranges are a little strange. I'm 33, which I consider early thirties, but I have young kids and stuff. I've been DMing since I was a teen.

    D&D 5E (2014) My Ideal Release Schedule

I bet you could distill the Psionics handbook, and the class based complete books down to a single 300 page hardcover and have a better book that outsold the separate books combined over the long term.

    D&D 5E (2014) Legends & Lore - A Retrospective

When you going to cover the next one? It's about game balance, which is never a boring conversation.

D&D 5E (2014) Can someone please explain to me why there are still no PDFs for 5e core books?

I think that it's primarily about building strong relationships with the game stores. Organized Play seems to be central to the marketing of fifth edition, with it being tied into the seasonal stories.

    D&D 5E (2014) Are DMs getting lazy?

This is something that Mike Mearls wrote about a while back. A big part of setting and campaign design happens during the breaks between activities, when you have a few minutes and your mind wanders to that thing you're working on. These moments occur in the car, in the elevator, on the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Hoard of Dragon Queen out-of-print?

I would be very surprised if there was an additional print run of the Tyranny of Dragons books. The focus of investment starting this month will be Elemental Evil.

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

If a game has been the same for as long as you can remember, and you don't foresee it changing, then we can call it evergreen. Chess, Checkers, Monopoly, Sorry, Candyland, and the like are clearly evergreen. Most games, in fact. I don't foresee Dominion having a second edition, even with...

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

For an edition to be evergreen, it should never have a subsequent edition. Repackaging, or reprints with minor errata are fine, but the books you bought when it was new should still be adequate and compatible with new products decades later.

    [UPDATED] What's Paizo's "Big News"?

It's plausible that they're partnering with WotC to make cross compatible products. That would be big and unexpected, yet possibly mutually beneficial.

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

There are a few approaches for the magazines that could work, but this is something I would crib from Paizo's playbook. Each month is a 64-96 page softcover with a different topic. Sometimes it's an adventure, or a delve into a particular race or monster type, or a book of strange magic items...

D&D 5E (2014) Can you like both 5e and Pathfinder?

The OP speaks madness. You must cleanse yourself of such impure thoughts before your disloyalty spreads discontent.

D&D 5E (2014) I believe the D&D boardgames actually hinder the table top game.

For many, Hero Quest was the game that got them into D&D. For me, it was the Dragon Strike board game with its cheesy VHS. They can definitely be a bridge into the hobby. The only D&D game I play now is Lords of Waterdeep, which I love. But it doesn't compete with D&D for my time. Sessions are...

D&D 5E (2014) I believe the D&D boardgames actually hinder the table top game.

This is a common fear about splitting a brand. But these kinds of things can also have a strong synergistic effect so long as both product lines are quality.

    D&D 5E (2014) Racial Ability Score Mods

It's a side effect, but whether it is a problem is a matter of opinion. I generally prefer rules that reflect the setting, and don't care if playing off-type is viable. I'm not alone in this, nor is my opinion universal.

    D&D 5E (2014) Racial Ability Score Mods

While I am on record as thinking that the lack of racial penalties is the single worst design choice in fifth edition, I've gotten used to it. I haven't bothered changing the rule in my home game. That said, it's dead simple to add a -1 penalty to each of the races if you want it. Perhaps it...
