    Character development questions

You can find handbooks for all these choices here http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?PHPSESSID=dq6s83igda1rvtnmjjh2c7kip6&board=22.0. Also, I would not play with a DM who tried to force my character to choose a feat so you might want to talk to him about it. Also, rolling...

    favorite D&D character concept

My own favorite character concept is of casters and of an all caster party: druid, cleric, wizard and artificer. When I am DMing, I toy around with other character concepts that I wouldn't necessarily choose as a player. As a player I have a tendency to play humans so when I am the DM I can...

    all caster party.

What is your experience with an all caster party? I like such parties. I think that when you have a mix of casters and non-casters, the tendency is for the casters to overshadow the non-casters. In this way no one overshadows anybody else and everyone contributes about the same amount whereas in...

    Forgotten Realms 'Chosen'

There is a chosen of bane template in the FR supplement Faiths and Pantheons.

    animal companion feats

Can you choose which feats your animal companion takes? The riding dog entry has as its feats alertness and track. I wanted to take power attack and weapon focus (bite).

    Class levels and CR.

I think that while CRs may help beginning DMs create encounters, for the more experienced DMs CRs are more guidelines. The way to figure out what is a challenge for your party is a number of things: party size, the degree of optimization and skill on the part of the players, the abilities of the...

    Would you rather... (Game Style)

I definitely like having freedom to create my character. Generally I don't bother to have RP reasons for why a specific feat, class etc. etc. fits with my character concept since the two are separate from each other although as a DM I may require some sort of explanation for certain thing such...

    D&D 3.x UR-Priest (3.5)

No one said that they have to use their wishes. Most likely a houserule requiring 5k xp to be paid for every wish will go in place.

Open lock & Disable Device Nessecary?

If my party has been neglecting certain skills and has been careless I don't see a reason why they shouldn't suffer the consequences for their neglect. There is a statement "if you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail." which sums this up nicely. As far as an all caster party, I love playing in...

    Camaigns/Adventurers.

I have a case of writers block for an adventure/campaign that I am writing and I wanted to know what tools (websites w/ guidelines etc.) you use when creating an adventure/campaign. Do you use published adventures or do you write them yourself? Any advice would be appreciated. The campaign is...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Psionics.

I have the 3.0 psionics handbook and I wanted to know what people considered to be broken in the book. I know that thrall seems to be overpowered as it is an epic spell for the wizard.

    D&D 3.x UR-Priest (3.5)

I suppose that makes sense, a gentlemans agreement it is then.

    D&D 3.x UR-Priest (3.5)

I assumed that the rule for such things would be based on logic and reason. It seems illogical to allow SLAs to be cast without xp costs. This definitely requires a houserule as well as a houserule requiring the person to pay xp costs for expensive components used in a spell.

    D&D 3.x UR-Priest (3.5)

Actually you are mistaken about SLAs not having xp cost, the players handbook says that SLAs function in most ways like spells. I do consider BoVD a 3.5 source although I am interested in knowing why you don't consider it a 3.5 source. I actually consider the UR-priest to be subpar to a...

    D&D 3.x (3.5) People complain too much

I don't think that the splat books have taken away anything from playing the game with only core. I think that the splat books have added a tremendous value to my games both from the aspect of mechanics and optimization and roleplaying.

    Heroes vs. Villains.

Do you find that villains are more proactive than heroes? I personally find that villains more often take the initiative to kidnap people for sacrifices, create undead etc. etc. and that heroes wait for the villains to do something and then be called upon to deal with it. It seems that villains...
