Actually the SLA is not as abusable as it first seems since you still need to pay the xp cost for wishes so it would be just like casting the spell 3 times. Such things only become abusive if the DM lets them.

I don't believe in fighting fair or honorably. I think that you should have done what was necessary to win. At least its a good thing it was a tournament and not a life-or-death fight otherwise such nonsense as fighting "honorably" or "fair" would have gotten you killed.

Dragonwarrior 3 actually had a portal to another world open up once you had defeated the main boss so the scenario is not unheard of although I personally would make it another planet if I was going to run such a scenario.

Its actually a pretty powerful class. It has trapfinding, its own form of spellcasting called infusions and of course it can craft things cheaply.

Actually Hierophant seems to be a really good class to go into after taking UR-Priest.
