D&D 3.x (3.5) The Paladin Sucks? Also, how to fix it?

I know you know this but my suggestion would be a Bo9S classes as a substitute.

    D&D 3.x Alignment restrictions. (3.5)

Yes but in real life there is no penalty for corrupt clerics unless they get caught right? And throughout history priests have done some horrible things. I think the creators of Eberron were trying to capture that realism.

    D&D 3.x Alignment restrictions. (3.5)

Which is why I like Eberron's system where gods don't walk the earth, I find that it captures that realism which is missing when gods walk the earth.

    Sorcerer Spell Review

My first suggestion would be to play a wizard for versatility. There is a spell you might want to have: Nerveskitter 1 SpC You also might want to check out these two guides: Solo's Stupendously Superior Sorcerer Stratagems This one gives you a good analysis of spells: The Logic...

D&D 3.x (3.5) The Paladin Sucks? Also, how to fix it?

They were evil because they were not acting according to the principles of morality, namely to uphold and defend the principle of individual rights. Now I don't agree with Ayn Rand's arguments about this. She would say that it is not in a person's rational self-interest to be evil which I...

    D&D 3.x Alignment restrictions. (3.5)

The alignment system in Eberron is the one I use actually.

D&D 3.x (3.5) The Paladin Sucks? Also, how to fix it?

You are the one who rejected a perfectly good suggestion by Dandu to replace the paladin with the crusader over a stupid idea that paladins have to be good and I am arguing that it is unrealistic to require that paladins be good.

D&D 3.x (3.5) The Paladin Sucks? Also, how to fix it?

I thing you are confusing is and ought. They are and they should be "living embodiments of a Knight in Shining Armor and Warror of Virtue, Good and Righteousness" are two different things. There are many things which should be but which are not, that is part of reality.

    D&D 3.x Alignment restrictions. (3.5)

Do you find alignment restrictions in 3.5 to be unrealistic? The reason being that throughout history there have been evil persons who belonged to good organization and they did not lose any of their power whereas in 3.5 they do. The inquisition, corrupt priests (this in no way means that I...

D&D 3.x (3.5) The Paladin Sucks? Also, how to fix it?

Here you are mistaken. It is more realistic not to have alignment restrictions for playing paladins. History shows this to be true, there have been countless groups who fought under the banner of righteousness and goodness and yet were evil. Such as the Inquisition or in the case of...

D&D 3.x (3.5) The Paladin Sucks? Also, how to fix it?

Yes, a paladin is a tier 5 class like the monk. I don't have tome of battle so I don't know whether there is anything in there for paladins but that would be my suggestion.

Goblins in trees 100' up - avoiding falling damage?

Just some friendly advice, unless you know someone personally it's kind of creepy to write so-and-so's favorite spell.

    The Planar Shepherd planes

Why do you say that the Beholder Mage class is broken? Is it because they can cast their spells without material components?

    D&D 3.x Eberron/Dragonlance adventure (3.5)

Yes, I definitely plan to discuss this with my players so that I know they are looking forward to it and they will enjoy it. I would also leave the table if a DM decided to transfer my character to FR. I also don't like FR. Can I ask what you don't like about FR?

Need help on how to incorporate a good story line?

My suggestion would be to have a teleological adventure, a goal-directed adventure. Contrary to popular belief having a coherent, goal-pursuing adventure is not railroading. Railroading is when you're player's choices don't matter, not when your adventure has a certain plot and direction it...

    D&D 3.x Eberron/Dragonlance adventure (3.5)

I have been thinking of creating an adventure where the players by some magical event travel to another world entirely and have to find their way back to their own world. I have in mind the players traveling from Eberron to Dragonlance and I want them to arrive in Dragonlance exactly somewhere...

Again: optimization and role-playing are not mutually exclusive. Dandu is right.

Help me plan my character progression!

I only play with DMs who meet certain criteria so I can't help you there. Stormwind fallacy. If the character got started before you knew the intricacies of D&D that is a different issue entirely. No other 1 level dip comes to mind so my recommendation would be to take another level of cleric.

    help with build

I don't know about the Factotum since I don't have the book where that class is found but here's my advice: I don't take VoP for RP reasons. I like wealth and I don't like my power depending on my poverty. (which is really no power at all, since what is the value of your power if you can't...
