d20 Modern used Hardness, somewhat similar to a Damage Threshold, but the hardness was subtracted from the damage, rather than Damage Threshold applying all the damage if you exceed the threshold (I prefer the former). As an example, in the core rulebook they gave a M1 Abrams tank Hardness 20...

Add on to that the only "stable" jobs are going to the gladiator pits for other's entertainment or joining the army to fight the unending wars for the Sorcerer-Kings...both ones where job opportunities are constantly appearing (and the pay is supposedly great!).

That was rough. Those spells are 1st draft quality at best, a lot of them are simply (poor) derivatives of existing spells at best.

It's not outstanding in terms of story or places, but the original Phandelver overall feels very, very D&D. I think that is its greatest strength - it hits all the high notes at just the right time, with enough openness to take in many directions during and after the adventure. It's a shame...

Yeah, that seems likely. If we get it (and I still have my doubts), I'd have to take a long, hard look at it. I like the original boxed set, didn't like the revised set and was indifferent to the 4E version. In the post-Tasha age, WotC's been really hit or miss with campaign material.

Dark Sun always struck me as a place more for anti-heroes or for adventuring despite the status quo - trying to stay out from under the eyes of the Sorcerer Kings. Though the Prism Pentad seems to somewhat counter that sentiment...

Dark Sun really? WotC hasn't been willing to touch that for a few years now. What evidence is there they've changed their mind about it?

As an oddity to collect, didn't one version of the 3.0 PHB have a copy of e-tools in the back (on a CD)? Or maybe the DMG? I'll also agree Ghostwalk is good. Tome of Horrors Complete (I, II & III) by Necromancer Games is great - it contains many 1E creatures semi-officially converted to 3E...
