Any news on d20 Delta Green?

Thanks for posting this link! I wasn't aware that they were taking pre-orders for this yet, and I wanted to get mine in as quickly as possible. As for Delta Green, my local gaming store got one- and only one- copy shipped in. And it's currently in the hold bin with my name on it. :)

    Night Watch -- What system?

I think the main drawback would be Spycraft's reliance on guns, which would have to be addressed in the campaign settings. I don't remember seeing many guns in either the book or the movie, and they'd be all but useless against most supernaturals, anyhow.

    Night Watch -- What system?

I just got a copy of the old edition of Nightlife, and I think it would work fairly well, especially where PCs become less human as they develop their powers. This is something that was touched on in the book a lot more than in the movie. But, since Nightlife's OOP (although available as...

Living the Lie: The Philosophical Illusionist

One thing to consider about this is the character's motivations for acting the way he does. Even though the movie presented this as a philosophy, each of the characters which lived this way had definite, concrete reasons for doing so. For the Chinese magician, it was part of his act- he was...

    Sid Meier's Pirates!

The original Pirates! was probably my favorite PC game of all time. I enjoyed the new one a lot as well, especially the extra depth that they added. Although all that dancing got to be a PITA after a while. Things definately go better with the boots and hat! Burning Sea does look...

    City Ruins

The old "Dwellers of the Forbidden City" module details a ruined city, where different parts of the city or still-standing buildings act as sort of mini-dungeons. The nice part about this would be that you could drop your wizard in one of the locations, and still have other the other stuff...

Writer's block working on character backstory

You're a classic changeling- a fey who is left in place of a stolen human child. You were forced to leave fey lands over some embarrasment or other, and it was decided as part of your exile that you would be used to punish a human couple who had somehow offended the fey lords. You've been...

[Dread] Jenga beat up my dice! My results from the indie horror RPG.

Regarding the Dead Man Walking scenario, is this done for all deaths or only those who die early or accidentally? If the latter, I was thinking that part of the scenario could be that the clumsy player doesn't die yet, but instead will be in play waiting to take the hit for the next person who...

    Dungeon #147

You know, I've been enjoying the Savage Tide, but isn't this like the third time that Lavinia has needed saving? Someone needs to buy her a helm of teleport or something.... The Aundairian Job sounds awesome. I always wanted to do a fantasy bank heist, and Eberron is definately the place for it!

    What WotC licenses remain?

Blackmoor is the only outstanding license I can think of, though it's not a D&D license like Kalamar or Ravenloft. It's technically WotC's property, though, even with the ownership weirdness. Hopefully this license doesn't get pulled as well. I'm starting to wonder if WotC is reeling in their...

d20 Stats for a Headless Horseman

This has gotten a couple of good reviews, but I haven't seen it myself: http://enworld.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=5624&

Appropriate classes for a pirate game

Holy Warriors make good substitutes for the law-abiding paladin, if you have acces to that class. I think it's especially appropriate for Eberron since I can really only see paladins following the Silve Flame (or maybe the Path of Light, too). Like the Warlock, the beguiler might be a good...

    Game Design - Technoshock

How about tying it to in-game events instead? I was initially thinking about annual trade shows, like CESS, where the new tech comes out. They could be monthly instead of annually, maybe for 3-4 tech types instead of the whole of technology. Once the show occurs, everything the PCs have is...

    Common High-Level Tactics

In one high-level game I ran, the cleric set up a blade barrier and the wizard conjured an air elemental to throw enemies into it. I believe the phrase "fine red mist" was used to describe the results. Even the players were wincing. After that, the cleric swore never to use that spell again.

    Elder PCs

During the Known World Rules Cyclopedia game, I wanted to play a Shadow Elf. I decided that the most reasonable way he would be on the surface by himself (as opposed to part of an infiltration team) was to make him a Wanderer- an 800 year old elf who has been forced to leave society due to...

Illusionist with a hostage, what would you do?

I think that sounds more like a case of the villain not wanting to negotiate, until it was clear to him that he had no other choice.

Illusionist with a hostage, what would you do?

If they're using someone as a hostage, I'm guessing that the villain is going to use at least a round or two to try and negotiate some form of escape. This should give the party a chance to try and detect or disbelieve any illusions, assuming that the illusion allows a save without direct...

    Any GOOD Firewalls Out There?

It seems to me that programs like AdAware and other spyware detectors should be able to find most things on your computer that would send data back to botnets or other listeners. So, instead of having a firewall in the background to monitor all traffic, you could just get spyware removal tools...

The Logic (or Lack of) in D&D

Hmm. I wonder if intelligent trousers would've been able to guide the horse?

The Logic (or Lack of) in D&D

One of my characters had a pair of intelligent boots like this. They got sick of all the dungeons and decided to see the world, so every so often I'd go to sleep in the wilderness and wake up days later in someplace like Greyhawk City or the Barrier Peaks. It was a pain since, as a rogue, I...
