    Have We Seen Half-Orcs Yet?

What in the crap is so difficult about typing the word "people"?

    Points of Light

Okay, I should be doing other stuff, but this is too much fun for me to say no. I'll try and forget about all the big, thriving city settings I'm always thinking of, and do something new in the "points of light" vein. Interim is a frontier town established by the small but dynamically...

No turning for clerics? (A question, not a rumor.)

Okay, I guess it's confirmed: Turning is in (of course), but it halts undead, rather than chasing them off. Or destroys them, naturally.

    Have We Seen Half-Orcs Yet?

Yep, that's my list exactly. The Half-Elf Warlord seems inevitable, since they've mentioned some kind of "inspiring presence" effect as a Half-Elf racial ability. ...But, honestly, I'd love to see them go with Baby Samurai's list. I hate archetype enforcement in RPGs.

D&D 4E Thoughts on 4E from an "Outsider"...

I think, for a lot of us who stuck around longer, that kind of "stand and swing" combat stopped being interestesting once the fundamental concept of RPGs lost its novelty. You've gotta give me more meaningful choices, or else it's the dice the win or lose the fight and not me, you know...

    Have We Seen Half-Orcs Yet?

Unless I'm missing one, I believe we've heard seven races discussed and all but confirmed for the PH1: Human, Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, Half-Elf, Tiefling, and Eladrin. We're also mostly convinced there'll be eight classes: Fighter, Rogue, Ranger, Warlord, Cleric, Paladin, Wizard, and Warlock...

Who is Rao, what are his stats and what domains and porfolios does he have?

If there's a paladin of Rao, I think it must be Superman.

D&D 4E Pausing Everything and Waiting for 4E...

Hell, there are plenty of other games out there to distract me until 4e comes out. Last night, my group just finished up the one-shot-run-into-15-sessions that I DMed to introduce them all to modern D&D, so now one of my players is going to go back to running a World of Darkness campaign for...

So, what do you think of Gleemax?

EN World's Germans speak better English than Gleemax's Americans.

    Design & Development: The Warlock

I think it's not simply making weapons that's evil, but weapons that can destroy planets and are comissioned by Space Nazis who consider genocide a valid interrogation technique. ...Of course, when the Space Nazis effectively rule all of known civilization, I think the line between "slaves" and...

    No More Multiple Attacks?

    That's what I said.

    Design & Development: The Warlock

I wouldn't say they have to be good. Non-evil is good enough for me. I know it kind of contradicts one's sense of symmetry to have one evil pact option and two neutral pact options, but I don't think forcing symmetry into your game mechanics is necessarily a good idea. Hell, look at the...

What would you like to see brought back from older editions?

I basically only clicked on this thread to say "specialty priests". That's the one thing I miss about 2e. Hell, I might even go so far as to say that the sphere system didn't go far enough. I'm not sure why you'd use the word "muscles", either. Red Sonja ain't got a Strength of 20. Now...

    No More Multiple Attacks?

Gwathlas is hilarious and I hope he never stops posting. Enough people make a grammatical error, and it becomes a grammatical rule.

    Tiefling Tables

The varied appearances of tieflings were always one of the coolest things about the race. (And, in my opinion, the main reason that aasimars always seemed lame by comparison. All they get is something lame like silver hair.)

    Design & Development: The Warlock

It does not, however, imply worship. Those are two different things. A "pact" sounds more like buying a sword than joining a religion, in my book. Just because the guy selling you the sword lives on a different plane doesn't mean that the act of buying or using the sword leads you to worship...

Gamer Age - What year were you born?

1974: The birth year of folks who were aged 9-11 during the run of the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon. WotC really oughta be trying to get a new cartoon made. I am serious.

    No More Multiple Attacks?

Oh, so completely true. Even as a kid reading the 1e Monster Manual for the first time, I thought it was kind of amazing how these monsters seemed to be able to use every freaking limb in combat at the same time. (Tangent: Humanoids with bite attacks. WTF. I don't care how sharp your teeth...

    Design & Development: The Warlock

That's basically on par with killing someone because they bought their sword from an evil blacksmith. You're making some huge assumptions about what Warlocks are, and some very strange judgements about how Paladins should behave. Actually, I have heard that done already. With hilarious results.
