D&D 5E (2024) Some Terms Removed From 2024 SRD... But Is 'D&D' Really Supposed To Be In There?

That would be a risky assumption, because it's not just the logo that is trademarked. It's the actual combination of those letters and ampersand. I don't know the answer, but I have heard two lawyers state that the CC license does not override a trademark, so you still should not use "D&D"...

D&D 5E (2024) Some Terms Removed From 2024 SRD... But Is 'D&D' Really Supposed To Be In There?

My understanding is that by agreeing to the license, you are agreeing not to do that. If you do that, then you can't use the license. So what I've been told.

Wizards of the Coast Says That China Tariffs Will Have Minimal Impact on D&D

Wizards of the Coast Says That China Tariffs Will Have Minimal Impact on D&D

I was considering doing a boxed set for when I release Bubgears&Borderlands 2e. Now? Nope. At least not like I had planned. I still want to do it, but it's going to be a limited run (100 copies), and assembled by me, to keep costs down. I have equipment to do a decent sized chunk of the...

If they've licensed them to other companies, I don't think they can speak for the impact to those companies. They can only speak to what they create and distribute themselves.

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

Sorry, I didn't mean obvious at a skimming glance, I meant obvious that once you look at it, that it was meant to be a knight and not an iron golem.

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

Yeah, it's obviously supposed to be "knight". They just forgot to update the name when they copy and pasted.

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

I meant D&D Beyond. While a bit tongue in cheek (WoTC doesn't literally take over your IP), it's pretty close to that for intents and purposes: "5.2. License to Wizards. By posting or submitting any User Content to or through the Websites, Games, or Services, you hereby irrevocably grant to...

    D&D General Western-Inspired D&D adventures

I'd rather not. As I mentioned, I did it more than a decade ago, and there might have been examples of cultural appropriation of indigenous cultures before I knew better. I don't have any gross stereotypes or racism that I can see, but since I'm not indigenous, there are probably things I'm not...

What Game Publishers Are Saying About The Tariffs

Just got this email from Print Ninja (bolded in red by me) We wanted to take a moment to update you on the confusing times we face in regards to tariffs and goods that are shipped out of China. The size of the recent tariffs has the potential to be devastating to a business like ours that...

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

On paper, yes, but in practical use, not really. Here's why. And I'll use my B&B 2e project as an example because it's a great example of what @bedir than is referring to. When designing a project, a ton of feedback I got was that people wanted something built on the 5e engine to be familiar...

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

Keep in mind that "D&D" is trademarked. As far as I know, CC doesn't apply to trademarks, so even though the term "D&D" appears in the SRD 5.1, it's still protected under trademark.
