Clearly they never met any gamers, because of my collection, most were passive reading* and and many were never even played! ;)
* I spend hours, nearly every day, just reading rpg stuff in the 80s. Much more time than actually playing them.
Oh, I'm sure. Just no idea how much. This is a first. Based on my understanding from Zeb, it was the first print paper that was misaligned on the folding and cutting machine. So that leads me to believe it may be one of a kind. Typically any print issues like this would be caught and destroyed...
Less. About the same as you'd pay for a normal boxed set on ebay. I reached out to Zeb Cook, and he pretty much confirmed it was a fold issue at the printer and is a one-off. There probably aren't more like it out there. I also reached out to Scott from Acaeum and he had never heard of one...
I saw this at my local old-school shop and of course picked it up. I've never seen a misprint in the wild before. Heck, I never even knew they existed. Anyone heard of this before?
These conversations always remind me of the Anointment Trial episodes of the original Thundercats, where Lion-O meets Maftet. A dying god because no one worships him any longer. RPGs are kinda like that. It's dead when no one plays them anymore.
Welp, with the tariffs, my question is answered for me. No way I can manufacture anything in China realistically now, so that eliminates plastic injection molding and even 3d Printing (since the cost of filament/resin are rising dramatically).
