Oh, +100. As we gamers age, this is a constant moving target. For me, who started in 1981, modern is WotC on. Which is weird, because it's been almost 30 years now. :eek: Just like how it's hard to believe Lord of the Rings movie is 25 years old now...

So basically, I guess my answer would be "everything not in the SRD is product identity". It's either something WotC created, or they have a unique presentation of something that may be public (copyrighted material including images and text).

I would think the answer is in two parts. This is a list I found, but don't know how updated it is: Part 1: Anything created by TSR/WotC is protected IP. Part 2: Anything not created by TSR/WotC (like Banshee or Yeti) is not protected IP unless you're using copyrighted illustrations or text...

It is. I have a somewhat related conversation going on in discord because we noticed that several folks are using the same image of Stock art on DTRPG. Stock art is great for small publishers with small budgets (and even mid-sized publishers), but boy, it sure does make it hard to stand out...
