    Tiefling Paladin/Rogue

I like the ability to Hide/Move Silently though. I would consider dropping some strength in favor of weapon finessing. If you go the light weapon route, you won't need strength for combat. Keep charisma, it will help with many of the rogue class skills, the paladin smite abilities, and also...

    Tiefling Paladin/Rogue

I've actually been reading this threat for a while...just thinking... Definately use Devotional Inquisitor from CAdv, the feat that lets you multiclass back and forth between paladin and rogue, as well as stack levels for smite evil. Go with a high dex (tiefling will help with that), so you...

    idea about stealth

Yeah, I just saw that when I looked up something different, actually. You need 5 ranks to do that, and if you have 15 ranks, you can take a -10 penalty to give everyone +5 on their checks. Allies have to be within 30 feet, and able to see/hear each other.

    Better Synergies?

I couldn't find something like that in CAdv, but there might be something I missed. It does have rules for using synergetic skills in combined attempts though (like using Handle Animal to help someone else's Ride).

    Better Synergies?

Anyone else think that synergies aren't very useful? They're something to look forward to when you level-up for the first time, but after that, +2 to a specific skill isn't actually that noticeable (maybe in some circumstances where the DC of a situation is equal to skill ranks + appropriate...

    D&D 3.x Ambidexterity in 3.5

I'm not trying to impress anyone. I just don't think making up new words (ambistrength) addreses the issue at hand. All that I'm trying to show is that being equally talented with each hand is called ambidexterity. I admit, I got carried away, but you're telling me that ambidexterity is not...

Help Us Kill Morrus - Just updated 23/03/05

Have you considered allowing the rest of the party to be dominated by the Lich Queen? If there is some conflict between the Slaad King and the Gith Queen, I bet that would really tick off the slaad. I mean, you all are fairly high level, so the queen might not dispose of you immediately. If...

    Negative XP for Level Adjustment?

The 15 level thing was from Savage Species. It's not that unwieldy, is it? If a 1st level fighter has the half-fiend template (+4 LA), they have an ECL of 5 (1+4), so they need as much experience to level up as a 5th level character. You could think of the player as having four levels of...

    Bonus for the characters

I guess you've been reading the thread about uses for d12's... ;) I'd determine it randomly, but then again, I don't use point-buy for ability scores; I use the roll 4d6-take best 3 method, and assign an ability to each total. Somehow, I think if I did use a less random/more control method...

    D&D 3.x Ambidexterity in 3.5

And that fighter has three fighter bonus feats, very possibly including weapon focus and weapon specialization. And later, they'll be able to get greater focus and specialization. Also consider the bonus that the THF receives from using power attack, a feat not very useful at all to a TWF...

    Negative XP for Level Adjustment?

I don't know. I think using ECL or monster classes would be just as simple or simpler than negative amounts of experience. Except that Illithid is a 15 level monster class...ouch. A 6th level Illithid fighter could/should/would travel with epic characters.

    D&D 3.x Ambidexterity in 3.5

I was thinking about the strength modifiers for TWF - and KaeYoss, you're wrong in your analogy. TWF characters get 1x for their primary hands and .5x for their off-hands, while THF characters get 1.5x for all of their attacks - this isn't equal. Every attack made by a THF has 1.5x strength...

Your opinion, a Drow or Duergar

It's always been my impression that you can add the tiefling properties to a humanoid creature. There's a 'Tieflings as characters' section in the Monster Manual that allows it as a playable race with an ECL of +1. Perhaps I'm more liberal toward the definition of Tiefling as it should be, but I...

Changing grip from 1h to 2h?

Can't find that action anywhere, but since readying a shield is a move action, I'd assume putting another hand on a sword is a free action.

    Archers: viable archetype?

That's funny. We usually start an adventure with not a lot of gear, so we don't need a pack animal, and we just slowly add more an more things to our inventories, hoping that the DM never bothers to find encumbrance levels. He typically doesn't. As for archery, it's awesome if someone can...

    Negative ECL??

I still don't know the stats on your character, but it sounds to me that something is awry. It's as if your balancing your character's advantages by giving him a negative ECL. The ECL isn't a postive quality that can be lowered as a disadvantage, it's a measure of how strong a character is...

Your opinion, a Drow or Duergar

But you'd have to explain why a normal dwarf would be with drow and duergar. A duergar dwarf wouldn't have much difficulty, even if he'd be abused by drow. Starting at 5th level, eh? Have you considered playing a half-fiend? :] Otherwise, level adjustments usually don't bother me that much...

    Templated Animals

I think that would work for the HD and CR, but someone probably knows better than I - but even if that's not exactly how one's supposed to do it, it seems accurate. As for templates, you might look at the alignment of the wizard. He might have fiendish or corrupted cats if he's evil, or...

    Shadow Jumping

I'd rule that only levels in Shadowdancer count toward caster level for this ability.
