    The Pixie is up!

That's more or less how I imagine it. Pixies levitate, not actually fly. The wings arte there for propulsion. Their natural magic only allows them to go up to 5 feet. So if they concentrate, flap the wings a lot, they can sort of "run jump" across charms or reach higher altitudes, but after...

... in french in the news on the home page???? Am I the only one seeing them or is it some sort of spam attack??? I'm browsing thru my smartphone, regular web page, no app

ZEITGEIST ZEITGEIST Adventure Path - Revised Editions

Is there a "what's changed" summary somewhere?

WotC sayz "People don't use rituals much" - O RLY?

I'd just wish that rituals: 1) had some "renewable" metagame regulation mechanism but not gold cost. Action points, healing surges, "ritual points", one use per day, whatever. Steep casting time and gold costs make most players steer away from them. 2) they were designed to substitute skill...

    Where's the lance?

That's what I'd do. Maybe I'd also add "reach increases by 1 when charging whilst mounted on a willing creature". After all, the greatest advance of lances was that charging you could use it's reach in full potential and be the first to hit.

Legends and Lore: Head of the Class

I'd like to see a "Basic" system with less decision points. It would be great to introduce new players to the hobby, and IMHO that's where Essentials failed (Red Box, I'm looking at you!). Most new players when introduced to RPG, just want to play Conan the barbarian, Gandalf the wizard, or...

    Tarrasque .... Grrrrrr

At 4E launch there was a lot of discussion about the subject. Basically, 4E is higly 2-dimensional. It supposes all counters on the map to be on the same level or something like that. All areas of effect just specify a square or rectangle. It doesn't say anything about "quote". The funny thing...

    Tarrasque .... Grrrrrr

By RAW, if i recall correctly auras have no maximum height. So the moment you are closer to the Big T than 40 squares, on the flat X Y axis, you're pinned, even if you're flying in the stratosphere.

The End of the World as We Know it?

Yep, neither I'm trying to invalidate your opinion. This is just a discussion forum and we're discussing. ;) What I'm arguing on is the "online" thing. That's correct for the CB, but the magazines? They're just "downloadable". They're no more "online" than if you put them in a DropBox folder...

    Eberron inconsistencies

One thing that never convinced me, and is applicable to varios fantasy worlds, is that once a nation has a viable way of producing an army of undead (magically possible, economically feasible, morally acceptable...) I can not understand why it doesn't escalate to dominate the entire world...

The End of the World as We Know it?

It's not the "ad" issue. It's the wasted click/refresh/time issue. There's a banner advertisevent right on top of this page, and does not bother me at all. I don't have to look at it and does not hinder the naviggation in any way. It's the "ads" that interrupt my navigation flow, like the...

The End of the World as We Know it?

There's a lot of truth in what you say, and of course one's experiences may vary. But you start from the assumption that you have read the material, which is a prerequisite before you use it. With the current I'm beginning to think it's not worthy to read the material at all, so the fact that...

The End of the World as We Know it?

Which is exactly what's going to happen. Just exactly as I have to strike a balance between how much I want the PDFs and how much I'm annoyed by the bad user experience to get them, they'll have to make do with some people deciding that at the end the first is not worth the second. It's just a...

The End of the World as We Know it?

The BAD new web-based model. It's not the only web-based model. ENWorld, after I registered, on top of letting me download PDF, opened some new functionalities that made my experience better, including taking away some nagging banners. Why shouldn't WotC do the same?

The End of the World as We Know it?

Sure as hell, but when I go to Ikea, I can just walk through the whole store and not buy anything. When I subscribe to DDI, I'm already paying for a service. I perfectly understand Ikea's sale model, but I don't like to see it applied to this case. It's ok for non subscribers to end to the...

The End of the World as We Know it?

That's the point. I don't log and check daily. I DON'T want to log and check daily. Let's face it: the whole "online magazine offering" is just a glorified file server. There's nothing "online" in it. It's just PDFs that you download and read offline (yes, I know that you can read it in the...

The End of the World as We Know it?

I know that, but I don't consider that much because it's still not enough. First, it still requires me to click to the article page, and then click on the PDF to download, which is all wasted time in my POV. Second, it doesn't track what articles I already downloaded (doesn't even track my...

The End of the World as We Know it?

It seems to me IMHO that some people are giving an incorrect meaning to the word "digital". Sure the magazines have gone digital. But a magazine can be digital and still be a magazine. Why not? Dragon and Dungeon moved to PDF format. That's still a "magazine" format in the broad sense of the...
