    Microsoft Surface used for D&D

Glad to see someone is working on this. I know many of us envisioned using Surface tech for RPGS and tabletop wargames. There are so many ways to do the dice rolling: random number generation, rolling virtual dice with a "physics" engine, having a real-world dice that can be recognized on the...

    Hybrid Character Concepts

Last night I was planning out a Paladin/Sorcerer hybrid, using the feat that allows another class' arcane implement (heavy blades) and the paladin hybrid armor talent. Basically, it's heavy armoured radiant/fire melee damage dealer (weapon powers and close burst powers) with a few other...

    Which edition poll for October

I just finished up my HackMaster game. Next up is Star Wars d6, followed by (probably) FATE Supers. I want to get either a 4e D&D or Rogue Trader game started on the weekends.

    Has Scott's replacement been announced?

Yeah, remember that when other folks left, Scott basically just added their workload to his current responsibilities. Often times "duties" are shifted for awhile until a new person is appointed to be officially in charge. Ugh -- now I'm having cubicle flashbacks. Make it stop.

    Thank You

Good luck, Scott. We'll be glad to see you around as a regular ol' D&D fan!

[D&D Collectors] Do you have everything? (And a poll about your buying habits)

I collect D&D material published prior to 1983, though sometimes I might go as far as 1985. I never pay "collector" prices, though. Which means my collection is perpetually incomplete.

I have DMGII and Revenge of the Giants

Does the Revenge of the Giants book use the standard 4e encounter display -- two page spread with a mini-map and stat blocks? Is there a pull-out map in the book? Are there any note on running the adventure in the beginning, especially the use of dungeon tiles to match the encounters (as was...

I really don't have much to add to this thread other than I think Kenku are awesome.

Classic DND Module Series for 4e

To answer your question, yes, I'd like to see products like these, even if they are "inspired by" adventures in the style of Revenge of the Giants. And in some ways, I prefer the "inspired by" versions as they don't feel the need to adhere to any specific timeline or setting canon. I found H1...

Would you buy a Scarred Lands 4e?

It never really interested me... ... but if enough people want it, I don't see why it couldn't be re-released as a system neutral setting.

What do we know about 'Revenge of the Giants'?

Not a boxed set anymore? That stinks. :-(

    Gaming Book Shelf Competition

I know this sounds weird, but I've always wanted to create a virtual library space on my computer. A 3-D interface of my meatspace library room will all the "books" (ie, pdfs) in the same space.

    Reviews: positive or negative

When it comes to reviews, I don't care if they're positive or negative, I just want the writer to be honest with her or his opinion. For RPG reviews, I only care about "in play" reviews, not book reports.

D&Di - Monster Builder Beta Launch Announced

Excellent -- now I can have offline access to all the monsters. If DDI keeps progressing like this, I'll probably re-subscribe 3 or 4 months down the line.

The Character Builder and House Rules

What I really, really want is the ability to change fluff text/power names/class names but keep the same rules. I guess I'm weird like that.

Cool free hex mapping program (From PCat's Player Commentary thread)

Oh yeah -- I saw this listed in Knights of the Dinner Table recently. I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

    Hackmaster

Cool. I didn't know it was a mini-campaign. I'm running my newbs through Quest For the Unknown right now, and I'm planning on switching over to HMb when I get it, so that's good news. I just hope the distribution issue gets solved soon. I know my local dude ordered it through Alliance/Diamond...
