    Swords and Sorcery in 4e

I think that 4e handles S&S very well. Especially with the use of the Martial Powers book, each player can have a unique non-"caster" style class. In addition to the tips given above, I would say that for S&S, add in some kind of wound system that requires the group to hole up in the seedy...

How Are your Books Holding Up?

No change since I bought them. At the time, each of the books I picked up had a hard crease or two in each of the books. That's because I went through ALL the books on display, pulled out the ones with creases/minor internal page damage, and bought those for myself. I figured that it would...

5 rpgs I would take to a deserted island.

I am assuming that each "book" takes up a RPG slot, otherwise my choices would be different. FUDGE Universalis Aces & Eights Dark Heresy D&D Rules Cyclopedia

Are you buying a DDI subscription?

I'm running a 4e game. The price for the magazine only subscription seems good, but I really can't afford it right now -- especially considering the additional expense of printing pages. As for the rest of the DDI, well, it isn't here yet, so I can't make a decision.

    Published retro futuristic rpgs

Hey Lizard, Iron Lords of Jupiter was great. Is Tales of the Solar Patrol in the same vein? What's the crunch to fluff ration of the book? I know I've had great luck using GURPS supplements for fluff resources in the past without ever using them with the GURPS rules system.

Umm... what is Delve Night? Looks like I missed something.

    Rate 4E Dungeon Magazine

Wow -- looks like I'm not alone. A digital Dungeon magazine needs to take advantage of the format. Unkeyed maps, full page art, full-sized battlemaps, tokens -- the resources are already there to make this happen.

    Starter Set - $16.99

Well, considering the price, that makes sense. I'll probably be picking up one of these.

    Starter Set - $16.99

Sounds cool. Any idea on the dimensions of the box? Is it the same size as the 3.5 basic sets?

    WotC announced non-randomized minis

Let me just say that I agree more with you than I disagree. I don't think Bill is a hater. I think he was just expressing his situation plainly: he's been playing for a long time, and he doesn't need any more miniatures. I am in a similar situation. During the years WotC sold randomized...

    WotC announced non-randomized minis

Don't take it too personally, Bill. WotC's internet spokespersons are feeling pretty defensive right now. Lots of deadlines pressing down on them, and lots of heat on them from the internet community they're hoping to sell 4e/DDI to. Of course, it doesn't help things that they view TSR's...

    ERB-Barsoom-John Carter of Mars

Iron Lords of Jupiter was awesome! Just thinking about it, and the whole run of Polyhedron mini-games, makes me smile.

    WotC announced non-randomized minis

This could be really cool. I hope they go for it. I have yet to purchase a single randomized D&D miniature box, and I never will. I like knowing what I'm buying.

    4E DCC Covers?

The main reason I was interested in the DCC line was because of the retro art and design, especially their use of Erol Otus. Now that WotC is putting out decent adventures for 4e, I don't really see myself buying any 4e DCCs. However, if they continue to put out 1e compatible DCCs, those will...

    Hackmaster

If you like HackMaster, be sure to read the comic/magazine Knights of the Dinner Table. The one good thing about the big "change" in the upcoming HackMaster edition: I think it will serve to keep the old HackMaster as a separate and desirable entity. I feel that one can use the HM PHB, DMG...

Pathfinder 1E Lisa Stevens, CEO of Paizo, commenting about ENWorld

The OD&D vs. AD&D edition war is the only true edition war. All other edition wars are pale imitations.
