Nope, haven't told him we've started, just the insane things everyone has done with their PCs (I still need to look and make sure you're ninja is following the rules correctly, though he probably is). I'm starting to doubt we'll ever do the one-shot anyways, but we might get it in over winter...

Well, I was planning on making all of the pirates honorable, just to varying degrees of morality. They all have strict CoC, but how much they loophole is another story. Overall, they're almost all in the same nationality, just some are less bloodthirsty than others.

Not at all, sounded like your getting a kick out of life, which is always a good thing. And the reading level comment didn't sound arrogant, I had the same thing back in third grade, heh heh heh (I also had two or three friends back then, but thats another story)... :]

3. Puzzle should either be logical or done through hints dropped in-game. Don't make a puzzle the PCs have no hope of ever solving unless you have to come out and directly tell them certain facts or clues.

Nope. We've all made characters, but Rapida had to withdraw before we could actually get down to adventuring.
