    Do you guys like Incarnum?

Look at Soulmelds: they provide all the bonuses. Example, want a trapfinding character but no rogue levels? Theft gloves when bound to hand chakra, grant trapfinding. Want bonus to it: Incarnate avatar: Alingment is a big deal here, Chaos grants ranged attack bonus Evil grants melee damage...

    Do you guys like Incarnum?

I never had Totemist lacking, but stay away from soulborn. It has almost no essentia. I found Totemist/Incarnate rock.

    non-supernatural rogue/swashbuckler?

So no supernatural? Easy. Trade a few Swashbuckler levels for Swordsage (near the end): Take Shadiow Blade feat. Non-supernatural that you might use: Desert Wind Flashing sun gives an extra attack. Zephyr Counter Desert Tempest Diamond Mind: Emerald razor Sapphire nightmareblade insightful...

Hirelings/Cohorts? Does any every hire them?

I was thinking of the under used rules for Cohort/hireling. A Hireling bought gets no XP/treasure, but a daily pay (more if going into extra dangerous areas). A Cohort bought gets 1/2 share treasure, 1/2 XP. Cohorts can also be obtained with Leadership, but that costs a feat. DMG has rules for...

    Would you rather... (Game Style)

Why Leadership? Leadership means they follow the Quartermaster not the Captain... Why not just hire cohorts or hirelings? Yes, you have to pay them as crew, but saves a feat (DMG discusses this). Cannons aren't a profession. They are are weapon. You might mean Profession (Sailor) or...

    Size of sneak attack weapon

2E restricted it to mostly one handed weapons (not light only/a ranged weapon had to be point blank range). 3.5 has no restriction. One can cut your artery with a greatsword or a dagger. Unearthed arcana supports this as they invented the Sneak attack variant Fighter (sneak attack instead of...

D&D 3.x How will do the rules for D&D 3.5 and D20 modern "blend"?

Casters/semi-casters (Dragon fire Adept/Warlock/etc) will rip D20 modern a new one, but non-casters might be killed easily. Abjure Jaunt Conjurer variant can evade Int attacks + add in mage armor/mirror image/stoneskin/displacement/invisibility.

    D&D 3.x (3.5) aw screw it, I'm playing a Ninja

Another Idea: Flask Ninja. Buy a few potion belts (10 gp to store flasks). Maybe Heward's Handy Haversack. 1 Point blank shot, Quick Draw 3 Improved Initiative 6 Rapid Shot 9 Twf 12 Grenadier or Shaped Splash (if halfing) 15 Improved Rapid Shot Flasks are ranged touch attacks + splash...

    D&D 3.x (3.5) aw screw it, I'm playing a Ninja

Yes, you do. -2 for TWF -2 for Flurry (unless have 5 or more Monk levels when Penalty is lowered by at least 1)

    D&D 3.x (3.5) aw screw it, I'm playing a Ninja

Ninja isn't bad, but we need to acquire loss of Dex to AC. Dragon Magazine has a feat callede Extra Ki: gives 3 extra uses (for Ghost Step). Full attacking while Completely invisible for 1 rd adds up Sudden Strike. Go for Feint attack (Improved) so if enemy has Seeing ability you can still...

Dread Witch PrC and Immunity to Fear

Sum up: You are trying to seperate immunity to fear from immunity to Mind affecting? Heroes Feast grants immunity to fear.

    Back to Basics D&D campaign

Overpowered? Why because it has magic? Beguiler covers traps and spellcasting, unlike Sorceror. Actually Clerics are better, but FS are spontaneous. Warmage is spontaneous like a Sorceror and but spells known only blaster. It gives up alot. A decent variant. Very similar to Class variants...

    a couple of questions

No. Vorpal is like a Burst weapon: it still affectds Crit Immune creatures. Nothing is immune to Vorpal but the race Lumi (Monster Manual 3). Some are unaffected by losing their head (like a golem) but not immune to losing head.

Complete "Sage Advice" from Dragon Magazines

In order: 1. No, they [elves] cannot. They do not have souls, and therefore a wish must be used to bring them back. 2. Inform the paladin he isn’t one any more. His new alignment is now lawful evil. Paladins tend to frown upon torture of any kind for any reason and would not let it be done in...

    D&D 3.x (D&D 3.5) Is Monkey's grip worth it?

Actually, it only grants you what it grants the Titan: the ability to weild a gargantuan warhammer. Rather Rules lawyery to assume anything gargantuan.

Complete "Sage Advice" from Dragon Magazines

It is fun to laugh at how they nerfed certain things in the answers: Elves have no soul Paladins have to be deputies (follow all laws of land). Gods have no power over Druids (they are too weak to turn you into one). Changing Alignment meant you are are level 1 again Lycantrophe isn't a disease...

ToB - preparing less maneuvers than your max.

Yes, Runestar, it is, but requires Prc dipping (for 3 levels, more than 1 Prc) for an extra granted maneuver or having another Martial adept to asborb the extra known and taking all the maneuvers so the Crusader side has to have less (because can't ready same maneuver twice).

    Class levels and CR.

Well, one equal and a few weaker work too. Oh, so you are doing 1 battle a day? Than it alright to do a very difficulty fight. So that Ankheg (CR 3) could be accompanied by 2-3 Small Earth Elementals (CR 1). Similar theme burrowers. If you wanted a lone battle creature: try a dragon they...

    Class levels and CR.

A Challenge doesn't mean a hard fight. You are expected to be able to handle (4 battles of CR = to Party level)/each day You only use up on average 20% of parties stuff (hps, total spells, etc); basically a speed bump. If you want a harder battle you want a harder CR, but the party can't...
