    Archmage: Mastery of Counterspelling

It would appear so, since Spell Turning (the spell) seems only to affect spells directed at you. IMO, Master of Counterspelling would become waaaay more powerful if you could redirect each damaging spell unto its caster. TS

    Feat at an earlier level

I totally agree. Getting the power sooner could be (and probably is) unbalancing AND the character could get himself in trouble (falling behind). Two reasons NOT to let him get the feat sooner than he should. TS

    Feat at an earlier level

18 original Cha +1 at 4th level = 19 charisma. The Spellcraft check is pretty limiting a DC of 25 is one of the lowest the character will have to beat. At 4th level, the character will probably have a Spellcraft check modifier of 7 (ranks) + 3 (Skill Focus) + 3 (generous on the Int) for a...

    Archmage: Mastery of Counterspelling

Since Fox's Cunning does not affect your archmage, it cannot be affected by Spell Turning. If it is not affected by Spell Turning, the spell is returned towards the original caster by Mastery of Counterspelling. TS

What do you think of the Heirophant PrC?

IIRC, Hierophant is to divine spellcasters where Archmage is to arcane spellcasters... They get (sensibly) the same powers, but the Hierophant doesn't give you +1 to spellcasting class... never really figured out why, and I find it quite a deterrent. TS

How wide is a "line", i.e. Lightning Bolt?

try 3.0 Here we go again. C = caster Line = Line Yellow = squares that every one agrees are affected Red = disputed squares :) I agree that it makes more sense when the red squares are taken into account, otherwise the shorter line would affect more squares (9 vs 8). Nevertheless, its a...

How wide is a "line", i.e. Lightning Bolt?

Here are 2 examples that represent what is affected by a line spell. (the line is black, the "c" is the caster and the yellow squares are the squares that are affected) TS Edit: crap, can't remove an attachment and put in a new one...
