Remember that being "Large" is not counted only with height, but also with width. A lot of creatures of about 8 ft height have "dwarflike" builds and thus become large in total size.

I think it is most logical to let each bracer effect one appendage. So when you wear the bracers on your wrists, they effect your hands/elbows. In this case it would be very logical to treat the bracers like double weapons, because that what they are in effect. Letting them effect all unarmed...

A part from kreynolds post above: So this option is open to all creatures. It isn't usefull for many characters, because unless your large or bigger and have improved grapple it costs you a lot without a lot of gain.

Definately NOT ... some things that improved grab has that improved grapple doesn't have: - automatically pull opponent into your space - grapple check does damage as with the appendix that triggers the improved grab - not taking -20 on initial grapple check but still holding the opponent in one...
