D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

The people of Krynn are too busy trying to avoid kender to worry about minotaurs.

What videogames are you playing in 2025?

Voyager does seem like an unlikely proposition. It was never all that popular even in its day. Simply doing a Star Trek game with an original ship that is lost would seem a better idea. Mulgrew seems keen to revisit the role though, I think she feels she was short changed in the script...

D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

That kind of depends on your source. The current Monster Manual connects minotaurs to Baphomet, but the still current write up for PC Minotaurs does not (MPMotM). And the first setting to have Minotaur PCs was Dragonlance, where they are definitely unconnected to Baphomet, on account of Baphomet...

She has an invisible skateboard, that’s why she always appears to be floating.

D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

Initially, they were descended from any lower planes creature. It was 4e that connected them all to Asmodeus, so it could give them a uniform copywritable appearance. And yes, it was reversed mid 5e 2014. Did your really miss that?

D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

The thing about BG3 is it forms pretty much a "first hand" experience of the Forgotten Realms. If you have played it you feel you have been there and know what it's like. And millions of people have played BG3. Mentioning gith, who were pretty obscure and unpopular as PCs prior to BG3, suggests...

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

Because the 2014 versions remain current until an updated version is released. So there is a lot of pressure for WotC to issue new versions of anything someone might want to play before people stat to become angry that they have to buy an outdated book in order to play X. This pushes completely...

D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

I played a chaotic good half ogre back in 1st edition. I've always seen PCs as a band off misfits who would be treated with suspicion even if they were all human. But how others react to a PC's species is a matter for the world builder, not the rules. And that's not really changed. What has...

I think it’s because people eat them when they are pretending to be posh, and French sounds posher. I do like mangetout though, but hate regular peas. And mushy peas are worse than green slime.

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

You mean it's not a reference to tiny peas served in the pod?! If you are using names of meta-significance you have to consider if your audience will pick up on the reference; if you want them too, or if you want it to remain a private joke. This one, would have passed a lot of people by I...

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

Warforged are already everywhere in D&D for “sentient construct” PC. As with dwarves and elves it’s better to have one Uber version of sentient construct which can be fluffed to suit the setting.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Yeah, that's why they should have stuck to their guns with Athas being totally destroyed. Back in the 90s, there was still some hope.

I would make these the same as small warforged (which were supposed to be out by now).
